The article outlines knowledge related to flight safety management in civil air transportation as well as the specific character of pilot’s work to in modern aircraft. The article also points out the significance of “human factor” as an element which in positive and negative way affects safety during the flight. The analysis of binding documentation and regulations in the field of safety management in commercial air transportation allows drawing conclusions concerning the area of responsibility for the safety of flight operations. Restrictive and innovated solutions allow air operators to conduct safe operations.
