The paper is a detailed exegetic analysis o f the lines Gn 49, 8-12 and Deut 33, 7 and it also compares the results of the analysis. The study allows us to State that the logion Deut 33, 7 and the proverb Gn 49, 8-12  are, from the biblical point of view, the bearers of the essential truths of the message o f salvation. Both texts under discussion show an affinity between the thoughts they contain . Moreover, they supplement each other, outlining together a more complete image of the figure to which they were particularly dedicated, with the stipulation, howeyer that they treat of the same person. In their light it tums out exceptionally close to God, and at the same time has some relations with Judah. It appears as someone who will come to existence in a concrete nation. Its mission will embrace the whole of mankind for which the mysterious person seems to be the Lord and someone so close as a mother is close to her child.

The motif of the raven, which appears in the Biblical flood narrative (Gen 8:7), has no widely embraced, straightforward interpretation. While the article does present some solutions proposed by contemporary exegetes, it concentrates instead on the passage's Wirkungsgeschichte, i.e. the manner in which this text inspired ancient translations, Jewish Midrashic literature, and Christian homiletics.

The article deals with one of the problematic issues found in the Matthean entry narrative (21:1-11), namely identifying the appropriate referent for the second pronoun αὐτῶν in Mt 21:7. First, a few textual emendations to the original Greek text are discussed, since the solution to the above problem has sometimes been sought in the discovery of a truly original text, free of this interpretative difficulty. Second, the grammatical and rhetorical explanations of the issue are elucidated. Third, the article presents and evaluates arguments for identifying the proper referent of αὐτῶν, whether in the vestments or in the two animals. In the author’s opinion, the most convincing solution to the problem lies in identifying the referent of the ambiguous pronoun as the two animals.

Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest analiza porównawcza skali Likerta o różnej podstawie rozpiętości kategorii odpowiedzi: (5, 7, 9 i 11 stopniowej), w kontekście procesu wyodrębniania czynników w eksploracyjnej analizie czynnikowej (EFA). Słowa kluczowe: eksploracyjna analiza czynnikowa, skale 5, 7, 9 i 11 punktowe, badania eksperymentalne, marketing

Abstract: The objective article is the comparative analysis of Likert rating scale based on the following range of response categories, i.e. 5, 7, 9 and 11 in context of the appropriate process of factors extraction in exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The problem which is being addressed in article relates primarily to the methodological aspects, both in selection of the optimal number of response categories of the measured items (constituting the Likert scale) and identification of possible changes, differences or similarities associated (as a result of the impact of four types of scales) with extraction and determination the appropriate number of factors in EFA model. Keywords: Exploratory factor analysis, Likert scale, experiment research, marketing

The Yahwistic version of the creation of man lays stress on the „breath of God,” i.e. the spiritual element, which out of matter (out of the clay of the ground) made the human creature alive, and on the identity of the nature of the woman who, together with her husband, makes up a supportive and complementary fellowship and the smallest social unit. The song in the sacerdotal version says that man was created as a creature with which God may and wants to enter into a dialogue. The difference in sex comes from God and points that man and woman, having the same nature of the will of the Creator Himself. They have different tasks in their lives, which is related with the difference in sex. Labour is a gift given from God, and their ultimate goal is to rest with God and in God.

The case study deals with the fortunes of translation equivalents of the words ἀφεδρών//secessus (in Matthew 15,17 and Mark 7,19) and γυμνός//nudus (in John 21,7) in the Czech Biblical tradition. The paper presents the material from almost fifty Czech translations (from the end of the 13th century to this day) and shows that the expressions (notions) draught, toilet and naked disappear in certain moments and are missing in most of the translations. The author tries to demonstrate in his analyses and interpretations when, under which circumstances and why there was this specific secondary tabooization that itself (slightly) disturbs the taboo of the inviolability of the content of the sacred text.

The first part of the article deals with four different understandingsof Hosea 6:6 in the context of this prophetic book: (1) repudiation of thecult as such, (2) the rejecting of a specific kind of cult, (3) the priority ofethics over the cult, and (4) the symbiosis of cult and ethics, i.e. that anauthentic cult interweaves ethical values and proper ritual conduct. Theauthor concludes that the fourth interpretation best fits the message of theBook of Hosea. The second part of the article deals with the problem of thetextual Vorlage which would have been used by Matthew. It seems that hequoted from the Hebrew text, being faithful to a then-current hermeneuticalrule by which each part of a biblical parallelism was interpreted separately, based on the belief that every single line carried equal weight and conveyeda new truth or a new law. The Matthean relecture of Hosea 6:6, the focus ofthe third part, is presented from two perspectives, namely synchronic anddiachronic. In the synchronic presentation the main point of concern is thecontribution of the quotes in 9:13 and 12:7 to understanding the Mattheanpericopes. Finally, the diachronic reading deals with the Matthean use ofHosea 6:6 within the context of the Matthean community and of its dialoguewith the Rabbinic Judaism of the day.
