This paper examines the reception of Boccacio’s “Tale of Griselda” found at the ends of hisDecameron. The tale is a rather enigmatic one, and remains difficult to interpret. In order to investigate the problems of interpretation and meaning when confronted with Decameron’s version of Griselda, we will draw from the work of subsequent authors: Olivier de la Marche, Petrarch and Philippe de Mézières.
