W artykule przedstawiono rezultaty przeprowadzonego przez autora w 2003 roku badania, którym objęto 334. właścicieli (bądź współwłaścicieli) mikrofirm i małych firm usytuowanych w woj. warmińsko-mazurskim. Przedsiębiorców tych zapytano o preferencje w wyborze wiarygodnego doradcy w sprawach związanych z zaciąganiem kredytu bankowego.

The article presents results of own surveys conducted in 2003. The survey covers 334 owners of small and medium enterprises in the Warmiäsko-Mazurskie voivodship. On the base of received data it is results that persons from the nearest social environment are the most reliable credit adviser, about 35 procent - bank officer and 25 procent - lawyer. Preferences in selecting such type of adviser are diversified and differ from some social, demographic and psychological features of entrepreneurs, differ from their experience in leading a enterprise and range of hitherto existing contacts with a bank. Bank officer is more often preferred as the most reliable credit adviser if entrepreneur: in a small town leads an economic activity, leads an economic activity on own account for a long time, employs more employees, received the better financial outputs. A lawyer is more often preferred if entrepreneur possesses testimonials of higher level of education. Persons from the nearest environment are more often preferred if entrepreneurs: run into debt, observed losses, are pessimistically disposed towards future of enterprise and plan to run a new economic activity or resign a leading an economic activity.
