Wstęp. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie opinii katalogerów pracujących w bibliotekach państwowych wyższych szkół zawodowych w Polsce na temat deskryptorów Biblioteki Narodowej (dBN), przedstawienie danych dotyczących stosowania wybranych standardów Resource Description & Access (RDA) w procesie opracowania zbiorów oraz informacji na temat systemu bibliotecznego. Materiał i metody. Badania przeprowadzono w maju i czerwcu 2018 roku. Dane zostały przygotowane na podstawie ankiety, wysłanej do 33 bibliotek państwowych wyższych szkół zawodowych w Polsce. Zarejestrowano odpowiedzi z 14 instytucji (42%). Wyniki. Większość bibliotek, które stosowały JHP BN stosuje obecnie dBN i ma pozytywną opinię na ich temat. Przeważająca część stosuje wybrane standardy RDA. Wyszukiwanie w katalogach OPAC tylko w niewielu przypadkach opiera się na wyszukiwaniu fasetowym, nie wszystkie systemy dają taką możliwość, a wymiana oprogramowania wiąże się z dużymi nakładami finansowymi. Wnioski. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują, że biblioteki, które odpowiedziały na ankietę, są otwarte na zmiany, chętnie stosują nowe standardy i starają się sprostać potrzebom odwiedzających je użytkowników.

Introduction. The aim of this article is to present the opinion of catalogue specialists working in state libraries of Higher Vocational Schools (HVS) in Poland about descriptors of the National Library (dNL), presentation of data relating to the application of selected standards of Resource Description & Access (RDA) in the process of development of sets and information about the library system. Material and methods. The studies were conducted in May and June of 2018. Data were prepared on the basis of a survey sent to 33 libraries of the Higher Vocational Schools in Poland. The answers were registered from 14 institutions (42%). Results. The majority of the libraries which applied JHP BN currently apply dBN and have a positive opinion about them. The majority of them apply selected standards RDA. Search in the OPAC catalogues only in several cases is based on faceted search, whilst not all systems give such opportunity and the exchange of software carries the burden of significant finance means. Conclusions. The results show that libraries, which replied to the survey are open to changes, willingly applying new standards and making efforts to meet the needs of users visiting them.

Thesis/Objective – The author explores the current state of Polish authority files, offers an analysis of the history and structure of NUKAT authority file and compares it to the authority file of the National Library of Poland (Deskryptory BN, DBN – the Descriptors of the National Library of Poland). He provides definitions of an authority file and national authority file and discusses the integration of authority files together with its results: NUKAT shared authority record, table of types and the process of transforming National Library of Poland Subject Headings to DBN. The comparison of selected types of NUKAT shared authority records to DBN records is illustrated with examples listed in tables. Finally, the author discusses some basics of the authority records construction, current cataloging rules and differences between NUKAT authority file and DBN authority file. Method – Methods used in the research involved the analysis and comparison of NUKAT and National Library of Poland authority files and the literature in the field of research. Results – The differences between the authority files in question discovered during the research result mainly from different cataloging rules used in the process of creating authority records (standards, criteria for the selection of the authorized heading, structure of the authority record) and varying structure of authority records built with MARC21 format.

Cel artykułu – Artykuł przedstawia obecny stan polskich kartotek haseł wzorcowych, zawiera analizę historii i struktury kartoteki haseł wzorcowych NUKAT oraz porównanie z kartoteką haseł wzorcowych Deskryptorów Biblioteki Narodowej (DBN). Podaje definicje kartoteki wzorcowej i autorytatywnej, opisuje proces integracji kartotek haseł wzorcowych i jego efekty – rekord uniwersalny CKHW NUKAT, tabelę typowania, przekształcanie JHP BN na DBN. Porównanie niektórych typów haseł wzorcowych zintegrowanych khw NUKAT i DBN obrazują przykłady podane w tabelach. Artykuł omawia również podstawy tworzenia rekordów kartoteki haseł wzorcowych, aktualne zasady i różnice między CKHW NUKAT a bazą DBN. Metoda – Zastosowano metodę analizy i metodę porównania kartotek haseł wzorcowych NUKAT i BN oraz literatury przedmiotu. Wyniki – Przeprowadzone badania wykazały różnice między kartotekami haseł wzorcowych NUKAT i BN. Polegają one przede wszystkim na różnych zasadach, leżących u podstaw tworzenia haseł wzorcowych (normy, kryterium wyboru terminu jako hasło wzorcowe, struktura rekordu hasła wzorcowego) oraz różnej strukturze khw wyrażonej w formacie MARC 21.

This article presents the process of the changes in the set of rules with defined terminology designed for cataloguing purposes at the University Library in Toruń, i.e. the departure from the KABA subject headings language and the transition to and implementation of the new set of rules for cataloguing using the National Library cataloguing descriptors. The article discusses the reasons that brought about this change, stages in the preparations, and the actual implementation of this new method for processing library materials. The author compares the information content of bibliographical data in the previously used method and the newly-implemented method, as well as their functionalities in the Library’s new Alma integrated library system with its Primo VE search engine. The expected utility of the new data for users of academic libraries is discussed and evaluated. The chronological bracket is defined by the years between 2015 and 2022. The present article is a case study and employs a comparative method and literature analysis.

W artykule przedstawiono proces zmiany zasad katalogowania w Bibliotece Uniwersyteckiej w Toruniu – odejście od JHP KABA i wdrożenie zasad katalogowania z zastosowaniem Deskryptorów Biblioteki Narodowej. Opisano przesłanki, jakie zainicjowały zmianę, etapy przygotowań oraz wdrożenie nowego sposobu opracowania. Porównane zostały zarówno zawartość informacyjna danych bibliograficznych w poprzedniej i nowej metodzie opracowania, jak i ich funkcjonalność we wdrożonym systemie nowej generacji Alma z wyszukiwarką Primo VE. Oceniono również przydatność nowych danych dla użytkowników biblioteki akademickiej. Zakres chronologiczny artykułu obejmuje lata 2015–2022. Praca ma charakter studium przypadku z zastosowaniem metody porównawczej i analizy piśmiennictwa.

The article discusses configuration changes of the default settings of the Primo Ve search engine, using tools available from the Alma system. It presents search solutions tailored for users of the catalog of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University Library in Lublin. transparent access to the information about the traditional and electronic collections held was the main assumption of the work related to the configuration of the Primo Ve search engine. During the necessary configurations and adjustments, efforts were made to ensure that the presented system functions provided the user and all agendas of the UMCS library and information system with consistent information.

Artykuł omawia zmiany konfiguracyjne w domyślnych ustawieniach wyszukiwarki PRIMO Ve, wykorzystując narzędzia dostępne z poziomu systemu ALMA. Prezentuje rozwiązania wyszukiwawcze dostosowane do użytkowników katalogu Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie. Przejrzyste udostępnianie informacji o posiadanych zbiorach tradycyjnych i elektronicznych było głównym założeniem prac związanych z konfiguracją wyszukiwarki PRIMO Ve. Podczas niezbędnych konfiguracji i dostosowań starano się, aby prezentowane funkcje systemu stanowiły spójną informację dla użytkownika we wszystkich agendach systemu biblioteczno informacyjnego UMCS.

This article presents the issue of the preparation of subject indexes in the Bibliography of the Lublin Region. This is a regional bibliography of a general nature, the beginnings of which date back to 1963. The preparation of subject indexes is an essential element in the description of documents qualified for a bibliography. The application of bibliographical norms and standards in this matter determines the correctness of a bibliography and its informational efficiency, and facilitates searching. The fundamental issue is to meet the expectations of the users, adjust the bibliography to their expectations and the changing reality. The article analyses the subsequent volumes and databases of the Bibliography of the Lublin Region with regard to application of norms and standards in the preparation of subject indexes. It is stated in the conclusion that in its almost fifty years of history the Bibliography of the Lublin Region was maintained in accordance with the current standards, with care for correctness, ease of access and the convenience of the user.

В статье рассматривается вопрос предметной обработки в Библиографии Люблинского региона. Это региональная библиография, имеющая общий характер, начала которой относятся ещё к 1963 г. Предметная обработка является существенным элементом описания документов, квалифицирующихся в библиографию. Применение библиографических норм и стандартов имеет решающее значение для правильного оформления библиогрфии, её информационной точности и упрощает поиск. Основополагающим вопросом является удовлетворение ожиданий пользователей, адаптация библиографии к их ожиданиям и изменяющейся действительности. В статье проанализированы поочерёдно все тома и базы Библиографии Люблинского региона с точки зрения применения норм и стандартов предметной обработки. В заключении утверждается, что Библиография Люблинского региона на протяжении своей около пятидесятипятилетней истории составлялась согласно актуальных стандартов, с заботой о точночти, легкости поиска информации и удобстве для конечного пользователя.

W artykule przedstawiono problem opracowania rzeczowego w Bibliografii Lubelszczyzny. Jest to bibliografia regionalna o charakterze ogólnym, której początki sięgają 1963 r. Opracowanie rzeczowe jest istotnym elementem opisu dokumentów kwalifikowanych do bibliografii. Stosowanie norm bibliograficznych i standardów w tej materii stanowi o poprawności bibliografii, jej sprawności informacyjnej i ułatwia przeszukiwanie. Zasadniczą kwestią jest sprostanie oczekiwaniom użytkowników, dostosowywanie bibliografii do ich oczekiwań i zmieniającej się rzeczywistości. W artykule przeanalizowano kolejne tomy i bazy Bibliografii Lubelszczyzny pod kątem stosowania norm i standardów w opracowaniu rzeczowym. W konkluzji stwierdzono, że Bibliografia Lubelszczyzny w ciągu swojej blisko pięćdziesięciopięcioletniej historii była prowadzona zgodnie z aktualnymi standardami, z dbałością o poprawność, łatwość dostępu i wygodę użytkownika.
