The modern conditions of ensuring environmental safety, problems and propositions for its solving within methodical and legal frameworks are presented. The conceptual seeing of interaction for ensuring the environmental safety is examined. The methodical approaches for formation and effective communication are worked out.

Ecological threats awaken fear among not only lovers of nature, but also more and more often among politicians and experts concerned with national safety and international problems. This situation can also be encountered in Poland. Ecology, however, is not a priority here, although environment protection and the problems it faces appear in different state documents. The present article is concerned with the issue of ecological safety in reference to the conception of national safety. This was mainly based on the Strategy of the National Safety of the Polish Republic which has been in force since 2007. An outline of the problems concerning the evolution of ecological safety in Polish national safety strategies have also been presented. According to the analysis of the contents of the mentioned documents, the article refers to the conception of development which is also closely connected with ecological safety.

The article reveals the ideas of achievement of social and economic principles of sustainable development. It deals with acute economic, social and environmental problems of participation of scientific community in ensuring sustainable development.It shows issues of efficient natural resource use, education, and innovative policy, overcoming social and economic inequality. It examines harmonization of global and national efforts; education to reduce inequalities and promote global and sustainable science and innovation; responsible and ethical conduct of research and innovation; improved dialogue with governments, society, industry and media on sustainability issues and sustainable mechanisms for the funding of science.

The paper deals with the basic results of sociologic research of socio-psychological after-effects of Chornobyl catastrophe with participation of Ukrainian researchers of the last quarter of the century. There is a retrospective analysis of such aspects of this catastrophe as peculiarities of the effect of communication system on socio-psychological state of victims; motivation of voluntary liquidators in performing the most dangerous tasks; adaptation processes in vital activity of people-victims of the catastrophe; evaluation of administrative decisions and social policy concerning the catastrophe victims, as well as transnational consequences of Chornobyl for international humanitarian aid. It is stressed that sociological study of this catastrophe is of practical importance for performing the rational state policy as to the national nuclear power industry which should necessarily allow for the public thought.

The separate aspects of ecological safety of Ukraine are considered in this article. By one of urgent and problems questions imperfection of current legislation, and also no realization of package of ecological reforms, is certain in the field of guard of environment, low level of control after an ecological situation, in investigation what serious ecological and demographic problems are in the state. Authors offer the certain ways of improvement of the ecological checking system.
