Trudności z oszacowaniem wielkości majątku stanowią ograniczenie analiz finansowych gospodarstw domowych, jednak istotność tej kategorii ujawnił dopiero kryzys finansowy z roku 2008, gdy część gospodarstw domowych nie mogła utrzymać możliwości konsumpcyjnych z powodu spadku dochodów i obniżenia wartości posiadanego majątku. Problemy te dostrzegły międzynarodowe instytucje ekonomiczne. Najbardziej zaawansowane prace prowadzi w tym zakresie OECD, organizując grupę ekspertów, której zadaniem było stworzenie ramowych zasad statystyki dochodów, wydatków i zasobności gospodarstw domowych. Artykuł ten przedstawia podsumowanie prac tej grupy w zakresie koncepcji, definicji, klasyfikacji i pomiaru zasobności gospodarstw domowych. (fragment tekstu)

This paper presents the objectives and basic theoretical assumptions of household wealth. The concept of wealth, in addition to income and consumption, is a third category of financial analysis at the micro level. This category is less common than the other two, but is a necessary follow-up analysis of con-sumer behavior and predict their response to changes in the financial (i.e. shocks). The main thesis of the article was based on the work of the OECD Ex-pert Group, which the Author was a member of. In addition to presenting defmi-tions, classifications and the principles of wealth measuring, the text embedded the test category in the current research on economic development and material welfare.
