Artykuł Etnolingwistyka białoruska dziś – realizacja idei zawiera syntetyczny przegląd kierunków badań etnolingwistycznych na Białorusi w latach 1984–2006. Zdaniem autorów, etnolingwistykę na Białorusi cechuje różnorodność zarówno w planie teoretycznym, jak i tematycznym oraz brak jednego dominującego kierunku, który mógłby aspirować do miana szkoły. Najsilniejsze związki łączą etnolingwistów białoruskich ze szkołą moskiewską. Projekty realizowane w poszczególnych ośrodkach obejmują kilka obszarów tematycznych; jest to etnolingwistycznie ukierunkowana etymologia i dialektologia, geografia etnolingwistyczna (realizowana jest idea białoruskiego atlasu etnolingwistycznego), łączy się podejście etnolingwistyczne z teorią komunikacji, z frazeologią, z kulturoznawstwem (pod nazwą lingwokulturologii), z etnografią, badaniami nad folklorem oraz ostatnio z kognitywizmem. Dobrą tradycją białoruską są badania porównawcze, motywowane wieloetnicznością Białorusi. Kompleksowe podejście etnolingwistyczne jest szczególnie owocne w zakresie badań archaicznych form kultury, w których łączy się podejście genetyczne i typologiczne. Badania te zaowocowały szeregiem monografii i dwiema ważnymi encyklopediami: Białoruska mitologia (2004) i Białoruski folklor (2005).

The article is an overview of ethnolinguistic research in Belarus between 1984 and 2006. The authors claim that Belorussian ethnolinguistics is diversified in the theoretical and the thematic sense. No single dominant trend can claim the name of a 'school'. The strongest links can be identified between Belorussian ethnolinguists and the Moscow ethnolinguistic school. Projects realized in various Belorussian institutions include several research themes: ethnolinguistic etymology and dialectology, ethnolinguistic geography (a Belorussian ethnolinguistic atlas is in preparation), combinations of ethnolinguistics and communication theory, phraseology, culture studies ('linguoculturology'), ethnography, folk studies and most recently cognitive studies. The ethnic diversity of the country motivates comparative research, which is a good Belorussian tradition. A comprehensive ethnolinguistic approach is especially fruitful in research on archaic forms of culture, in which the genetic and typological approaches merge. This line of research has borne fruit in the form of several monographs and two important encyclopedias: of Belorussian mythology (2004) and Belorussian folklore (2005).
