Od połowy roku 2001 Instytut Gospodarki wraz z Wyższą Szkołą Zarządzania i Administracji w Zamościu wdrożyli projekt pt. "Barometr nastrojów gospodarczych woj. lubelskiego". Źródłem informacji jest ankieta kwartalna, składająca się z dwóch elementów: diagnozy i prognozy zjawisk gospodarczych. W artykule przedstawiono opracowane metodą testu koniunkturalnego wyniki ankiet przeprowadzonych w latach 2001-2003.

Since mid 2001 ZamoŚą College of Management and Administration has been conducting quarterly surveys of economic sentiment of the Lubelskie Region, which results are calculated with a Business Condition Test. In the period from Quarter 2 of 2001 to Quarter 4 of 2003 the pessimistic economic climate dominated in the Lubelskie Region, although the seasonally disturbed tendency for improvement was also observed. The entrepreneurs, making the prognosis for the next quarter, show tendency to optimism that usually is not confirmed three months later. The economic sentiment indexes are strongly correlated with regional quantitative macroeconomic indexes, which confirm their usefulness for diagnosis and forecasting of regional economic phenomena.
