This article provides the most important information about the edition of the letters of the German composer Anna Teichmüller (1862-1940) and Martha Hauptmann (1862–1939), first wife of Carl Hauptmann, German writer in Lower Silesia at the turn of the 20th century, who changed his scientific career into the artistic life in the colony of artists in Szklarska Poręba (Schreiberhau). The correspondence between both women is a proof of their mutual relationship full of love and friendship, gradually transformed into jealousy and pain. The analyse of the letters compared with Martha Hauptmann’s memories shows a new until now not described image of Anna Teichmüller in the specialist literature.
