Withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union (Brexit) will defifi nitely bring various consequences for its inhabitants, including the Poles residing there. Rights, which the latter currently enjoy, will defifi nitely become a subject of the Brexit negotiations, especially as they do not possess status of ‘acquired rights’ under international law. It is therefore worthwhile to analyse the situation of Poles in the United Kingdom from the point of view of their social rights in particular, including their right of access to healthcare. The article in question synthetically presents therefore the current state of the British (English) healthcare system in this context. It is being published at a time, when the conduct, let alone the results of the negotiations in question can’t yet be foreseen. However, it may already be stated, that a lack of withdrawal agreement would be their one defifi nitely negative result.

Proces wystąpienia Zjednoczonego Królestwa Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii Północnej z Unii Europejskiej (Brexit) przyniesie z pewnością różnorakie konsekwencje dla jego mieszkańców, w tym dla przebywających w Zjednoczonym Królestwie Polaków. Prawa, z których korzystają polscy obywatele, staną się bowiem przedmiotem negocjacjivw ramach Brexitu, zwłaszcza że nie posiadają one statusu „praw nabytych” w rozumieniu prawa międzynarodowego. Warto przyjrzeć się tej perspektywie z punktu widzenia uprawnień socjalnych Polaków w Zjednoczonym Królestwie, na przykład w zakresie ochrony zdrowia. Celem opracowania jest syntetyczne przedstawienie obecnego stanu brytyjskiego (angielskiego) systemu opieki zdrowotnej. Obecnie nie można przesądzić o wyniku negocjacji, ale można stwierdzić, że brak porozumienia byłby ich zdecydowanie negatywnym rezultatem.
