Autor przedstawia dane dotyczących innowacji i innowacyjności w Polsce oraz w innych krajach europejskich. Prezentuje również zakres współpracy między przedsiębiorstwami i jednostkami badawczo-rozwojowymi. Omawia ponadto systemy wsparcia działalności innowacyjnej przez fundusze UE.

The Author presents data on the number and structure of both industrial and service enterprises, implementing innovations. Enterprises of Mazowieckie and Śląskie voivodeships stood out from other regions by the number of implemented innovations and expenditures on innovation activities. The cooperation range between enterprises and research and development units are also presented in the article. Results of innovation surveys from 33 countries in years 2008 and 2009 are discussed in the paper. Moreover, support systems of innovation activities by EU-funds are characterised.
