Characteristics defining the potential existing a particular country's economy provide an insight of the competitive advantage of its labour market. A wide range of these features requires selecting most appropriate methods and indicators to perform this labour market analysis. Hence, the following article is aimed at investigating diversification within Visegrad Group labour markets in terms of work demand and supply, using the taxonomic method.

The article presents the methodological assumptions extraction of deficit and surplus used by the public employment services in labor market analysis. Labor market analysis based on the same methodological assumptions are conducted twice a year at the level of county, state and country. However, the methodology used can in fact describe a small part of the labor market, focusing on the analysis of reported job vacancies to the District Labour Offices and the registering of unemployed persons. On this basis, the indicators are calculated deficit and surplus. The article shows weaknesses the methodology and presents the recommendations of change - so that the analysis conducted in the labor market could be a real instrument of adjusting the direction and content of education to labor market needs.
