The ongoing technological progress creates many new possibilities for the use of natural resources. Economic theory does not give a straight answer to questions on the role of resources in the production process - it is unclear if natural resources are complementary or substitutive with other factors. A natural question on the impact of these facts on longterm economic growth arise. There are opinions that technological progress will provide solution to all the problems associated with the depletion of the resources. The purpose of this paper is to attempt to answer questions about the theoretical relationship between long term economic growth, technological progress and the consumption of natural resources, taking into account the modern theory of growth and ecological economics. The main subject of research is the impact that role of natural resources (complementary or substitution) to the other factors of production can have on growth. An additional question is about role of exogenous technological progress.

The main objective of this publication is to develop an assessment method of the production depth indicator according to the concept of a flexible organization. The authors also engage into discussion and systematization of theoretical achievements which implicitly allows for the adoption of key - from the point of view of the research - assumptions and definitions. In the further part of this paper, the authors made an analysis of the production process of a selected component using the developed evaluation method, and illustrated what impact causes the transfer of the source of acquiring a subassembly from external markets for the purposes of own production.

One of the most important tools of statistical quality control is a process capability analysis. In order to measure process capability the most used are indices constructed for one-dimensional characteristic of production process. However often production process is described by more than one characteristic. One should then conduct a multidimensional assessment of process capability with appropriately designed indicators. The aim of this article is to analyze the problem of process capability measure of multi-dimensional process with dependent characteristics, using a proposed multidimensional process capability index.

The control chart is a tool of statistical quality control, which is widely used in factories. The fulfillment of its basic assumptions ensures faultless assessing the monitored process. Infringements the assumptions of classical control charts can cause false signals in the case of a regulated process, either lack of signal or the signal delayed in time, when process is out-of-control. Incorrect assessment of the accuracy of the manufacturing process is of course the economic impact. In this paper, based on actual data an attempt to determine control limits for the manufacturing process of the distribution of the controlled characteristics, which is significantly different from a normal distribution, was taken. The result of this work is the method of determining the control limits based on the quantile of a random variable estimated by the kernel estimation. The article pays attention to the economic consequences of infringements the assumptions of classical control charts.

Analiza wpływu zmian strukturalnych na wielkość łącznej produkcyjności czynników produkcji oparta jest na przekrojowo-czasowej próbie złożonej z obserwacji analizowanych zmiennych makroekonomicznych w Polsce w latach 1991-1998 w podziale na nowe województwa.
