The aim of the present study was adapting the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ) in Latvian and testing its validity. The MLQ is a compact ten-item-long questionnaire operationally defining the construct of meaning in life as a search for meaning and the sense of its presence. The existential and positive psychology approaches emphasize the significance of these components of meaning in life for understanding effective functioning. The original MLQ was translated to Latvian and then back to English. After a comparison of texts, psychometric properties of the improved Latvian version were tested. Participants of the study were 406 people, ranged in age from 18 to 49 (66% females). University students formed the most part of the participants (88%). The Satisfaction with Life Scale and the Individual Future Orientation Scale were applied for testing the convergent validity of the MLQ. The results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported the two-factor structure of the Latvian version of the MLQ and an acceptable fit of the model to data. Both scales also demonstrated good internal consistency. An absence of a significant relationship between the presence of meaning and search for it forms a topic for deeper qualitative and quantitative investigations. As expected, the presence of meaning in life associated positively with satisfaction with life and future orientation. The search for meaning linked positively to future orientation and not associated with life satisfaction. The presence of meaning in life and satisfaction with life demonstrated weak positive correlations with age. However, the linearity of this relationship should be tested in older adults. The search for meaning was not related to age. There were no significant gender differences in the presence or search for meaning in life. As a result of adaptation, the Latvian version of the MLQ can be applied in studies on meaning in life, views of the future, and different aspects of well-being.

In the paper we focus on the educational aspect of Walt Disney's book that is available at the Slovak book market. The attention is given not only to the literary-historical context of its origin and the current perception, but particularly to the educational potential which it could have, despite of its obscure artistic value. The educational dimension of the realization of a disabled literary character of bellman within the primary education will be presented on the chosen W. Disney's book (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame), coming from animated movie from Disney's workshop (and inspired by V. Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame).

The trends of tourism for all, including persons with disabilities, are visible both in the Czech Republic and in Poland, being reflected in the literature. However, publications presenting evidence-based research are still missing. In the paper, the authors refer to the issue, focusing on the explanation of principles, planning to deepen the focus in the forthcoming research. The United Nations Charter of Human Rights, issued in 1948, is mentioned as the first official modern document in which rights, freedom and obligations of ‘different people’ were defined with regard to political, social, and economic domains. The next important initiative was the Decade of People with Disabilities (1981–1991). The issue of physical activity and sport of persons with disabilities was stressed in the European Charter of Sports for All: Handicapped People (1987). All types and forms of physical activities are possible to be realized in the separate, parallel, and inclusive environments. Tourism and its accessibility for persons with disabilities should be accepted as the recent and future trend. Adaptation of communication, attitudes, methods, content of programs and technique conditions is important and has to respect the limits and abilities of the participants, but personal determinants are crucial.

XX wieku spółka należąca do rodziny Wasserbergerów. W roku 2002 produkcję przeniesiono do nowego zakładu. Stary młyn sprzedano spółce zamierzającej przekształcić teren w strefę budownictwa mieszkalnego, z wykorzystaniem i zachowaniem murów starszej części młyna.

The complex of mills in the Wieczysta district, up to 1943 a hamlet of Rakowice village, currently the outskirts of Krakow, was built in the early 1920s by a company belonging to the Wasserberger family. Industrial architecture of the facility did not convey any outstanding values, as it was strictly subordinated to the operation of one of the largest mills in the Second Republic of Poland. The plant suffered from several fires and was redeveloped to suit changing technological requirements. In 2002, the production was transferred to a new plant. The old mill was sold to a company intending to transform this area into a residential complex, however preserving and using the walls of older parts of the mill. Although its historical values do not measure up to top ranks, the mill has rooted in the landscape of the eastern part of the city over the years, thus becoming a widely recognised symbol of Wieczysta’s identity. Parts of this text are devoted to the undeservedly forgotten family of Jewish entrepreneurs and philanthropists who once owned the mill.
