Since the intensive computer automation of operational and administrative pro-cesses there has been increase in demand for knowledge intensive work. Knowledge workers have significant impact on companies they work in but the processes they use in their work are not well supported by technology. Case management with its data centric and artefact based approach to business process management is emerg-ing as a way to provide knowledge workers with flexibility they need in planning and executing their tasks. In January 2013 Object Management Group released spec-ification of Case Management Model and Notation (CMMN). Aim of this paper is to present CMMN basic concepts and provide some insights in ways how CMMN can be used to support knowledge workers and their effectiveness and efficiency.

This article is devoted to theoretical reflection on the situation of students in the university space. Nowadays in multicultural education it seems appropriate to study the needs and expectations of students in the development and support of their potential and to improve the quality of higher education. The author’s interest is focused on the case management method as the technology of the future used in higher education. Organizational chaos overwhelmed the quality management of student services, but also functioning of the higher education system requires modification. Case management is understood here as a method of managing and supporting the student’s potential in a personalized approach and enhancing the quality culture of higher education. The provision of services in higher education today is mainly a provision of knowledge, to a lesser extent a provision of skills and the least is skill-building of the student’s competences mainly in relation to the chosen field of study (the labor market). In the meantime, making possible for a student to enter the labor market is not the only function of higher education. There are still other tasks of higher education that are often neglected or not well organized in this space. The attempt to identify these didactic tasks of the higher education and proper implementation of them becomes an important goal to support the student’s potential in its overall development and to achieve a higher quality culture of higher education. The using of case management in the space of higher education is the development of technology for the management of university services for students/graduates in the unit dimension (student/graduate), organizational (university) and social/environmental dimensio

Ideą koncepcji dobrej praktyki z zakresu IT jest zastosowanie technologii elektronicznej wymiany danych (EDI) w działalności polskich jednostek wymianu sprawiedliwości. Koncepcja ta powstała podczas wdrożenia pilotażu dobrego zarządzania jednostkami wymiaru sprawiedliwości w ramach projektu „PWP Edukacja w dziedzinie zarządzania czasem i kosztami postępowań sądowych – case management” programu operacyjnego „Kapitał ludzki”. Dobra praktyka „Elektroniczny nakaz doprowadzenia” (e-nakaz) ma na celu wdrożenie narzędzi do elektronicznej wymiany danych dotyczących zleceń doprowadzeń oskarżonych i świadków do jednostek sądowych przez jednostki policji. Istotą dobrej praktyki jest zastąpienie tradycyjnej korespondencji papierowej elektroniczną wymianą danych pomiędzy systemami informatycznymi zainteresowanych stron z wykorzystaniem ustalonego formatu EDI (opartego na XML) oraz szyfrowanego tunelu sieciowego. Zastosowanie e-nakazu spowoduje radykalne zmniejszenie kosztu przesłania informacji, pracochłonności procesu oraz czasu wymiany informacji. W artykule przedstawiono założenia dobrej praktyki, jej koncepcję technologiczną oraz etapy i wyniki wdrożenia realizowanego w ramach wspomnianego projektu.

The article presents the concept of good practice in IT and the implementation of EDI technology in the Polish judicial system. The concept of good practice was described in the implementation of the pilot project of good management of the subordinate units of the Polish Ministry of Justice as a part of the project “Education in the time and cost management of judicial proceedings – case management”. The project was partially funded by the European Social Fund within the framework of Human Capital. The aim of the good practice “Digital writ of habeas corpus” (abbreviated to d-writ) is to introduce tools for electronic data interchange (EDI). These tools facilitate orders bringing prisoners and/or witnesses to courts by the police (replace paper communication with EDI communication channel embedded in IS of interested parties). It uses XML-based EDI protocol and encrypted data channel. The digital writ of habeas corpus saves both the courts an police money, and reduces the duration and complexity of the process. The article presents the assumptions of good d-writ practice, the technology involved and the stages of the project’s implementation.

The article is devoted to the theoretical foundations of the method of case management as an element in a social services system. Based on the analyses of the legislation and strategic documents of the European Union and Poland there was made an attempt to reveal the directions of the changes which take place in the dimension of the quality of life of the people who are the citizens of EU Member States. The particular attention is focused on the active integration services which are aimed at social and vocational reintegration and preventing poverty, marginalization and social exclusion. Case management with its individual and institutional dimensions can be used for more favourable achieving goals. The method of case management is a service which is provided in an individualized way. This way it is adapted to the needs and possibilities of the beneficiary at his full commitment. This is an integrated services system which is accumulated in the network and which is managed by one case manager. The integration of a variety of services which are managed by the manager allows more effective social and investment support of the various and long-term users’ needs. The German experience implementation of the case management method shows that it is effective in many areas. The introduction of the case management method on Polish soil (and not only) in order to improve the system of social services is a possible subject to the legitimization and introduction in the list of professions. The primary inclusion of this method can already be seen at the level of practice of a social worker, but not at the level of the actual functioning of the organizations. The lack of the necessary legal norms is, at present, the lack of understanding of the fact that case management is a professional activity involving the structuring of courses of actions, spheres of management and networks. The understanding of this idea will cause a reorganization of the services of the operating system, where the method of case management will be an important social investment element of change management.
