Contemporary market offers diverse development opportunities. One of them is coaching defined as a method of triggering promptly one’s personal potential resources. Coaching methodology is more and more commonly appreciated by managers. The purpose of the article is to show the idea of functioning of a manager as a coach who, by means of a coaching interview, enables their subordinates to perform better thanks to reinforcing their awareness of both situational conditioning of problems and their personal possibilities and constraints. To provide a manager with a possibility of effective application of coaching tools, it is worth taking into account the context of their own personality potential. Such considerations are conducted based on the subject literature and case studies involving analysis and psychological interpretation.

The goal of this article is a diagnosis of the main problems of human resource management in the school, and in particular the type of organizational culture that dominates in schools. Achieving such a goal required taking into account the specifics of management in the school. The basis of the topic is a survey conducted among teachers. On the basis of the analysis of the respondents’ statements, the most important challenges faced by the managing directors of the teaching staff and the conclusions of the conducted research were indicated.

Celem artykułu jest zdiagnozowanie głównych problemów zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi w szkole, a w szczególności typu kultury organizacyjnej dominującej w szkołach. Realizacja tak postawionego celu wymagała uwzględnienia specyfiki zarządzania w szkole. Podstawę podjętego tematu stanowi badanie przeprowadzone wśród nauczycieli. Na bazie analizy wypowiedzi badanych wskazano najważniejsze wyzwania, jakie stoją przed dyrektorami zarządzającymi kadrą nauczycielską oraz wnioski płynące z przeprowadzonych badań.
