Interdependence and mobility are main features of the modern, western world in second decade of XXI century. Thanks to technical development migrations from poorer countries to these which are wealthier seem to be obvious if we bear in mind that human being wants to live in best possible conditions. Poles emigrate – mostly to earn money for living. The aims of the article are: fifi rst of all – to research main directions and the scale of polish economic emigrations. Then the author is going to analyze the consequences of emigration from the viewpoint of the country which sends emigrants.

Współzależność i mobilność cechują społeczeństwa świata zachodniego w drugiej dekadzie XXI wieku. Dzięki możliwościom technicznym migracje z krajów słabiej rozwiniętych w kierunku państw bogatszych są czymś naturalnym, szczególnie biorąc pod uwagę dążenie człowieka do życia w możliwie najkorzystniejszych warunkach. Polacy również emigrują, głównie zarobkowo. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie kierunków i skali wyjazdów zarobkowych Polaków oraz analiza ich konsekwencji z punktu widzenia państwa wysyłającego emigrantów.
