EN
The paper discusses the social philosophy and political direction of conservatism, based primarily on tradition, social order, and reluctance to change. The author analyses the genesis of this phenomenon, shaped at the turn of the 18th and 19th century, by the revolutions that occurred at that time. The assumptions presented by the father of conservatism, the Englishman Edmund Burke, have also been discussed. On the basis of this, the features of modern conservatism have been identified, indicating the countries in which it is visible. Also, the discussion is based on the example of Poland, which is a state in which, on 25th October 2015, elections were won by the conservative Law and Justice party (PIS).
