In our times, along with changing conditions and requirements of the battlefield, a small number of states in the world have agents of conducting assault operations from the sea which could be led on a large scale and with such a swing like in past centuries. It should be considered whether one of forms of the fight needs leading and defining assault action from the sea. In the article, the assault action from the sea is the subject of the research (over the centuries) as one of forms of the conduct of operations in the art of war. Systematizing the terminology concerning conducting the sea assault operation and assault action from the sea is a fundamental purpose of the article.

Don Jaime Miguel de Guzmán-Dávalos y Spínola (1690-1767) fue uno de los más prestigiosos soldados de la Ilustración. Dejó sus Máximas para la Guerra, una obra de un indudable valor que conoció la imprenta inmediatamente después de su muerte. En este artículo, parafraseando al autor en el título, nos proponemos estudiar los preceptos de este estudioso sobre la guerra anfibia, a la cual dedicó un capítulo de su obra. Pese a su indudable calidad, lejos de rozar la idolatría hagiográfica, vamos a realizar una valoración crítica. Un desembarco en fuerza es una de las operaciones militares más complejas que existen. Por ello, nuestro estudio se basa tanto en las lecciones que consideramos más válidas como en los juicios que estimamos menos provechosos. También incidimos en aquellos temas que en nuestra opinión podrían haber sido tratados y no son analizados por el autor.

Jaime Miguel de Guzmán-Dávalos y Spínola (1690-1767) was one of the most prestigious soldiers of the Enlightenment. He wrote Máximas para la Guerra, a book of unquestionable value that was published upon his death. In this article, paraphrasing the words of the author mentioned in its title, we aim at studying the precepts of the renowned scientist on amphibious warfare to which he devoted a chapter of his work. Having in mind its unquestionable quality, and being far from the hagiographic idolatry, we are going to run its critical evaluation. Disembarking troops is one of the most complex military operations ever. Our study contains lessons that we consider to be most valuable as well as decisions that we view as not so beneficial. In addition to that we also tackle the aspects that in our opinion could have been presented and analysed by the author and were not included.

Jaime Miguel de Guzmán-Dávalos y Spínola (1690-1767) był jednym z najważniejszych oficerów czasów Oświecenia. Pozostawił po sobie Máximas para la Guerra, bardzo cenne źródło historyczne, opublikowane po śmierci autora. W tym artykule, którego tytuł został zaczerpnięty ze słów markiza de la Miny, skupiamy się na desantach morskich, którym autor poświęcił cały rozdział swojego dzieła. Poddamy ocenie krytycznej traktat, mając na uwadze jego niekwestionowaną wartość oraz będąc daleko od idolatrii. Desant morski jest bowiem jedną z najbardziej skomplikowanych operacji wojennych. na tych, które są nieco mniej użyteczne. Poza tym wskazujemy na te elementy desantów morskich, które nie zostały przez autora omówione.W artykule nie skupiamy się tylko na lekcjach, które uznaliśmy za najbardziej wartościowe, ale także na tych, które są nieco mniej użyteczne.
