While establishing the lay ministry of the catechist, Pope Francis expressed his hope that, as was the case in Christian antiquity, the catechist-because of the tasks entrusted to him-would be simultaneously a witness of faith, a master and a mystagogue, a companion and an educator who teaches on behalf of the Church. The aim of this article is to highlight the mystagogical dimension of the education of catechists preparing to enter the ministry in parish communities, and to present the related directions of pastoral activities carried out in the Church of Katowice as part of the Archdiocesan Centre for Pastoral Formation. The main research problem concerns the nature of the formation of catechists serving in parish communities and their specific competences. The study uses the methods of analysis and synthesis. The analysis of catechetical documents, carried out in the light of chronologically (sequentially) complementary guidelines concerning catechists' formation enabled to distinguish the mystagogical elements of the theological-pastoral formation of catechists. The article emphasises the postulate expressed in the Catechetical Directory for the formation of catechists as “witnesses of faith and mystagogues” and the lay ministry of the catechist established by Pope Francis, as a possibility and necessity for the formation of two types of catechists that complement each other through their competences: the school catechist-a teacher of religious education, and the catechist who undertakes ministry in the parish community. Pastoral initiatives supporting the formation of parish catechists conducted in the Archdiocese of Katowice are presented as an example of catechetical-pastoral implementation of the postulated activities. They serve as an inspiration for activities in other formation centres.

Ustanawiając posługę świecką katechety, papież Franciszek wyraził nadzieję, iż podobnie jak miało to miejsce w chrześcijańskiej starożytności, katecheta ze względu na powierzone mu zadania będzie zarazem świadkiem wiary, mistrzem i mistagogiem, towarzyszem i pedagogiem, który naucza w imieniu Kościoła. Celem naukowym artykułu jest wydobycie mistagogicznego wymiaru formacji katechetów przygotowujących się do podjęcia posługi we wspólnotach parafialnych oraz prezentacja związanych z nią kierunków działań duszpasterskich, prowadzonych w katowickim Kościele w ramach Archidiecezjalnego Centrum Formacji Pastoralnej. Główny problem badawczy wyraża się w pytaniu o charakter formacji katechetów posługujących we wspólnotach parafialnych oraz ich szczególne kompetencje. Dla opracowania problemu posłużono się metodami analizy i syntezy. Analiza dokumentów katechetycznych, przeprowadzona w świetle chronologicznie (sekwencyjnie) dopełniających się wskazań odnośnie do formacji katechetów, pozwoliła na wyodrębnienie mistagogicznych elementów teologiczno-pastoralnej formacji katechetów. Wyrażony w Dyrektorium katechetycznym postulat formacji katechetów jako „świadków wiary i mistagogów” oraz ustanowioną przez Franciszka posługę świecką katechety artykuł akcentuje jako możliwość i konieczność formacji dwóch dopełniających się dzięki posiadanym kompetencjom typów katechetów: katechety szkolnego – nauczyciela religii, oraz katechety (katechisty) – podejmującego posługę we wspólnocie parafialnej. Jako przykład katechetyczno-duszpasterskiej realizacji postulowanych działań przedstawiono inicjatywy duszpasterskie wspierające formację katechetów parafialnych prowadzone w Archidiecezji Katowickiej. Stanowią one inspirację dla działań podejmowanych w innych ośrodkach formacyjnych.

W diecezji kamienieckiej Kościoła Rzymsko-katolickiego jako pierwszej w wolnej Ukrainie powstał Instytut Nauk Teologicznych w Gródku Podolskim - regularny ośrodek kształcenia teologicznego dla kadr katechetów. Jego początki sięgają roku 1994 i związane są z pracą ks. Andrzeja Maciąga, polskiego katechetyka pochodzącego z archidiecezji lubelskiej. W latach 1998-2009 Instytut był afiliowany do Uniwersytetu Laterańskiego w Rzymie, natomiast od roku 2012 ma podpisaną umowę o współpracę z Katolickim Uniwersytetem Lubelskim Jana Pawła II w Lublinie. Do roku 2012 Instytut ukończyło z tytułem magistra teologii 131 absolwentów. W roku 2013 liczba studentów wynosiła 57 na czterech specjalizacjach. Istotną rolę w formacji stałej katechetów spełniają organizowane od roku 1996 przez Instytut sympozja katechetyczne.

In the diocese of Kamieniec - as the first in a free Ukraine - was formed Institute of Theology in Gródek Podolski - regular theological studies center for the staff of catechists. Its origins date back to 1994 and are associated with the work of Andrzej Maciąg, Polish catechetic theologian, coming from the Archdiocese of Lublin. In the years of 1998-2009 the Institute was affiliated to the Lateran University in Rome, and since 2012, it signed an agreement of collaboration with the Catholic University of Lublin. Until 2012 graduated from the Institute 131 students. In 2013 the number of students was 57, on four specializations . An important role in the ongoing formation of catechists play theological conferences, organized since 1996 by the Institute.

Era la diocesi di Kamieniec in cui la Chiesa romano-cattolica, in Ucraina indipendente, ha aperto l’Istituto di Teologia di Gródek Podolski: centro di formazione teologica per i catechisti. Le sue origini vanno cercate nel 1994 e sono legate al lavoro di don Andrzej Maciąg, un catechetico polacco proveniente dalla diocesi di Lublin. Negli anni 1998-2009 l’Istituto era affiliato alla Pontificia Università Lateranense di Roma, dal 2012, però, collabora con l’Università Cattolica di Giovanni Paolo II a Lublin. Fino al 2012 nell’Istituto si sono laureati 131 studenti. Nel 2013 l’Istituto ha contato 57 studenti in quattro specializzazioni. Un ruolo importante nella formazione permanente dei catechisti soddisfano organizzati dall’Istituto dal 1996 simposi catechetici.

In der Stadt Gorodok in der Diözese Kamenez Podolsk wurde das erste Institut für der theologischen Wissenschaft in der Ukraine gegründet. Seit 1994 Jahr das Institut bildet Religionslehrerinnen und Religionslehrer für die Katechese in Ukraine aus. Herr Andrzej Maciąg, der polnische Priester aus der Erzdiözese Lublin und Doktor Katechetik, war dem Organisator und erstem Rektor dem Institut in Gorodok. Seit 1998 bis 2009 wurde das Institut zu Lateran-Universität in Rom verbündet. Seit Jahr 2012 ist der Institut für der theologischen Wissenschaft mit Katholischem Universität Lublin „Johannes Paul II“ in Lublin verbindet. Bis zu Jahr 2012 haben 131 Absolventen das Institut mit dem Magi- stertitel der Theologie beendet. In Jahr 2013 studierten 57 Personen auf den vier Fachge- bieten (Pädagogisch-Katechetisch; Ehelich-Familien; Musikalisch-Liturgisch sowie der gesellschaftlichen Kommunikation). Wesentlich die Rolle erreichen die seit Jahr 1996 von einem Institut organisierten katechetischen Symposien in der festen Formation der Katecheten.

Formacja katechetów na Ukrainie po roku 1990 na przykładzie diecezji kamieniecko-podolskiej
