The concept of geodiversity is becoming more widely used every year, beyond its contribution to the development of geotourism. It is estimated that geodiversity is as important as biodiversity in the functioning of Earth’s natural ecosystems. Therefore, an important problem is to recognize the possibilities on integrating geodiversity in geographic education, both formal and informal. The main aim of the study is to identify the subject of educating godiversity, included in the core curricula in Spain and Canary Islands and to identify the forms, didactic tools and methods of geodiversity education existed in selected national, natural parks and geoparks of Canary Islands. The study has shown that the application of geodiversity in educational practice is still unsettled.

The Karkonosze Mountains (Giant Mts.) are a famous tourist region in the Sudety Mountains. One reason for this popularity is the geovalues connected with geotourism – which is a new form of tourism. The aim of this study is to assess the tourist attractiveness of 52 geosites in the Karkonosze Geopark. The assessment was done by using criteria of four other methods. The geosites of the Karkonosze Mountains are divided into four groups: most attractive, attractive, averagely attractive and not very attractive. Through this grouping a typology classification of the geosites was created. The results should lead to better management of geotourism in the Karkonosze Mountains.

W artykule przedstawiono sposoby nowoczesnego rozwoju edukacji przyrodniczej na przykładzie gminy Zawoja. Zaprezentowano powstałą już infrastrukturę dydaktyczną (9 ścieżek dydaktycznych oraz infrastrukturę dydaktyczną skierowaną do osób niepełnosprawnych, na terenie Babiogórskiego Parku Narodowego). Następnie zaprezentowano będące w trakcie budowy Centrum Górskie w Zawoi, które ma pełnić funkcję dydaktyczną na temat obszarów górskich i himalaizmu. Autor zaprezentował też cztery projekty szlaków geoturystycznych, mających na celu edukację w zakresie procesów kształtujących powierzchnię Ziemi.

The author presents the development of modern methods of environmental education based on the example of the Zawoja commune. The paper presents the educational infrastructure already formed (nine nature trails and educational infrastructure founded by the Babia Góra National Park and targeted at disabled people). The mountain centre at Zawoja that will be concerned with the teaching of the mountains and mountaineering was also presented. The author additionally presented four projected geotourism trails aimed at educating about the processes shaping the Earth’s surface.
