This article focuses on the phenomenon of dysfunction in the family or even total breakdown of family ties caused by economic emigration abroad of one of the members of the family (household). The aim of the article is to show the essence of the phenomenon, and also highlight the need to take into account when deciding to migrate abroad is not only economic, but also psychosocial separation from family.

Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na analizie zjawiska dysfunkcji w rodzinie lub wręcz całkowitego rozpadu więzi rodzinnych wywołanych wyjazdem zarobkowym za granicę jednego z członków rodziny (gospodarstwa domowego). Celem artykułu jest ukazanie istoty zjawiska, a także uwypuklenie konieczności brania pod uwagę przy podejmowaniu decyzji o migracji za granicę nie tylko aspektów ekonomicznych, ale także psychospołecznych rozłąki z rodziną.
