Towards an etymology of some old-Russian chronicle toponyms (12th–16th century)In this article, new etymologies are proposed for several Old Russian chronicle toponyms: Vĭlěna: Slav. *vĭl- 'surge'; Vŭrgolŭ: the onomatopoeic stem vŭrg-, richly represented in Russian dialects; Losna: *lŭskĭnŭ(jĭ) 'shining'; Neščerda: the prefix Ne- + the frequent Baltic toponymical stem skerd-; Tunegŭ: *touk-n-'fertile' + the suffix -eg-; and others. Na temat etymologii niektórych toponimów z latopisów staroruskich XII–XVIw.Artykuł proponuje nowe etymologie kilku toponimów ze staroruskich letopisów, m.in. Vĭlěna od starosł. *vĭl- 'kipiel'; Vŭrgolŭ od onomatopeicznego rdzenia vŭrg-, często spotykany w gwarach rosyjskich; Losna od *lŭskĭnŭ(jĭ) 'lśniący'; Neščerda od przedrostka Ne- i rozpowszechniony bałtycki rdzeń toponimiczny skerd-; Tunegŭ od *touk-n-'żyzny'.
