The aim of the paper is to point out certain analogies between de Saussure’s theoretical reflection on the ontic properties of expressions and the corresponding old Chinese and Indian concepts. Following a review of de Saussure’s ideas, the author proceeds to present their Eastern analogues. The main focus is turned to the fact that the Chinese Moists as well as the Indian grammarians and philosophers elicited proportion as the key to the understanding of the mechanism of language. The Sanscrit grammarians, the philosophers of Mīmāṃsa as well as, most probably, Gongsun Long in China saw clearly the invariant and non-material nature of expressions. The Buddhist logicians and the Moists also pointed to the oppositional character of expressions as constitutive for language.

The article briefly presents the notions of invariance and variance as used with regard to the transfer of three essential codes which we can discern in a literary work, i.e. aesthetic code, lexical-semantic code and cultural code (cf. Krysztofiak 1999). The analysis is provided on the basis of four novels by the Austrian author Wolf Haas, whose unique writing style can be demanding for any translator.

This study aims to conduct an Urdu translation and a validation of the ISBF Stress Management Skills Scale in two distinct phases. The first phase includes the forward-back translation method for ISBF. The second phase includes cross validation and the establishment of psychometric properties for the ISBF scale. A sample of 500 adults working in health care was taken from different hospitals and dispensaries. The first phase of the study includes the forward-back translation method. The second phase includes exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with invariance measurement. The total reliability of the scale is reported to be .812. EFA revealed a two-factor structure for ISBF scale, with configural, metric and scalar invariance across males and females, and comparable latent mean scores for males and females. CFA showed goodness-of fit indices for the two factors. The scale showed good internal consistency values. The model fit value includes the value for the goodness of fit index, which was .979, for the adjusted goodness-of fit index: .961, for the comparative fit index: .993, for the incremental fit index: .993, and for the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) value: .033. Good values of composite reliability and convergent validity were measured for both dimensions of the scale. The scale shows that this diagnostic tool can help to assess the skills used to manage stress. For criterion validity, the coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS-21) was used, which showed positive correlations. The subscale of stress management was taken from the Health Promoting Life Style Profile II (HPLP-II), which also showed positive correlations. Significant mean differences were found between scores of healthcare workers with stress management skills and with those without stress management skills. The group of mean differences indicated the females have greater stress management skills as compared to men. The Urdu translated and validated instrument will be helpful in understanding behavior in healthcare settings.

One of directions of reformation of physics education in higher educational establishments is strengthening of its methodological orientation. The level of formation of students’ knowledge in physics is determined by mastering of fundamental physical concepts (for example, symmetry), laws, theories and principles. Actual question at the modern stage of development of physics education is the theory of symmetry, based on fundamental co-operations. The concept of symmetry that is fixed in basis of modern physical theories is analyzed in the article and examined. It is stressed that the theory of large association, based on principles of symmetry, is in the stage of development. The role of principles of invariance in physics is not yet out investigated, and we are distant from the universal natural law. Symmetry finds out connection of physical laws, simplifies understanding of difficult processes that flow in micro world and are examined in physics. The different types of dynamic symmetries are exposed in the article, such, as a gauge invariance, symmetry of identical particles, mirror and unitary symmetry, and also displace attention on a concept oddities of elementary particles, on that principle of isotopic is widespread. As a result of the conducted research it is established that expedience of submission of maintenance of educational material from physics is based on fundamental concepts, one of which is symmetry which is examined in many sections of physics. The idea of symmetry in a course of the study of physics needs to take into account didactics requirements, and also it is necessary for clarification and generalization of physical concepts, conformities to law. Accordingly an acquaintance and study of this concept by students will be instrumental in forming of modern scientific thought, and also will provide systematization of knowledge from the general course of physics in the university and forming of scientific world view, for providing of inter-subject connections. The prospects of subsequent searches in the direction of research consist in the detailed analysis of concept of symmetry in the process of study of general course of physics by students in higher educational establishments and development of method of studies of physics with the use of this concept.
