However, until now the monthly periodical has been described as a magazine devoted only to the theatre. The author of the article proves that Comoedia is “a missing link” in the chain of the Polish avant-garde movement in literature.

The article analyses and interprets the apothegms and quotations from ancient and old-Polish literature in one of the most important testimonies of the Holocaust in world literature. In Polish criticism, there are few discussions of Perechodnik’s journal, and the existing articles are controversial because of their biased interpretations, which, in the present author’s opinion, are often manipulatory. It seems that the Polish intepretators of Spowiedź try, contrary to the author’s clear intention, to inscribe the text in the current controversies between Poles and Jews, while disregarding the third nation (Germans), and to turn Perechodnik into a postmodern author, because it allows for suspension of ethical rules. The greatness and tragedy of the author, however, stand for their own without such manipulations.

In the years 1919, 1929-1939, the Polish Librarians’ Association together with the Public Library of the Capital City of Warsaw published a professional and popular periodical under the titles: „Bibliotekarz” and „Bulletin of the Public Library of the Capital City of Warsaw”. In he text presents the origins of the magazine, difficult beginnings (1919), then an uninterrupted 10-year history (1929-1939). The formal features of the magazine (circulation, format, frequency, volume, price) were discussed in detail. In the full chronological perspective, covering 11 years, the transformations of writing, its profile, internal composition, composition, including the most important sections, are shown. The content of the magazine was analyzed, which made it possible to characterize the texts in terms of subject, geographical and personal range. Although oriented towards librarians, the ’librarian’ had ambitions to reach other circles as well, or at least draw librarians’ attention to the various fields of knowledge represented in the library. This is evidenced by bibliographic lists of books from various scientific disciplines. „The Librarian” (1919, 1929-1939), as convinced by the detailed analysis carried out, is still today a valuable source of information about Polish librarianship in the interwar period.

Writing abstracts, both in a professional and academic environment, is a crucialskill, reflecting the ability to think synthetically and express thoughts in a concise way. Due to the rising popularity of indexing scientific papers in different databases, abstracts can determine the readability of a paper and its future quotation rate. This paper presents the results of an analysis of the microstructure of 40 abstracts from prestigious impact factor medical and economics journals, offering guidelines for designing abstract writing exercises in foreign language courses for specific purposes

The article describes the Vilniusian paper dedicated to art and culture called “Comoedia”. Until now, this monthly magazine has been described as a theatrical paper between 1938-1939. The author of the paper justifies the argument, that the periodical being the last published initiative of “Walking Wolf”, is an unnoticed “missing link” so far-considering the chain of the Polish interwar avant-garde in literature.

Zaproponowane w artykule ujęcie prozy dokumentu osobistego jest nie tyle jej nową problematyzacją, ile próbą zastosowania do występujących w literaturze przedmiotu rozpoznań bardziej obrazowych i sensualnych kategorii krytycznych. Okno i lustro odsyłają do głównych (zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych) perspektyw postrzegania przez podmiot siebie i świata w pisarstwie autobiograficznym, a zwłaszcza w tzw. pismach osobistych (dziennikach, pamiętnikach, listach).

The approach to the prose of personal documents proposed in this article does not aim at defining new problems, but is rather an attempt to apply more vivid and sensual critical categories to the reflections presented in the literature of the subject. The window and the mirror refer to the main (external and internal) perspectives of the subject’s perception of the world and himself/herself in autobiographical writing, in particular in the so-called personal documents (journals, diaries, letters).

In 1955–1987, the Directorate of Museums and Monument Preservation (until 1959: Central Directorate of Museums and Monument Preservation), a structural unit of the Ministry of Culture and Art, published Biuletyn Informacyjny, a bulletin dedicated to documenting the activity of museums in Poland. In 1955-1959, it was called Biuletyn Informacyjny Centralnego Zarządu Muzeów i Ochrony Zabytków, while in 1959–1987, it was published under the name Biuletyn Informacyjny Zarządu Muzeów i Ochrony Zabytków. It was published as a bimonthly or a quarterly with a limited circulation (400–600 copies), and was delivered to museums. The following served as its subsequent Editors-in-Chief: Mieczysław Ptaśnik (until 1972), Stanisław Brzostowski (until 1976), and Franciszek Midura (until 1987). The core content of the publication covered short factual information reporting on definite achievements of particular museums or Minister’s initiatives, as well as longer papers authored in their majority by the Editorial Staff and museum curators who submitted their materials. Informative texts were included in the sections whose names altered. The most important of them were as follows: I. ‘Research and Academic Discoveries’, II. ‘Publications’, III. ‘Exhibitions’, IV. ‘New Acquisitions’, V. ‘Educational Actions’, VI. ‘Conservation Works’, VII. ’Foreign Cooperation’, VIII. ‘Foreign Museums’, IX. ‘Conferences’, X. ‘Communiqués’, XI. ‘Papers’. Despite bearing features of a journal published under the ideological and political control of the Communist regime, the Biuletyn Informacyjny Zarządu Muzeów i Ochrony Zabytków bulletin essentially constitutes a reliable source for the history of Polish museology in 1955-1987.

Distance education conferences and publications have the longest tradition in Western world countries, where they are focused on introducing professional solutions into business and administration. In Asia, the implementation of distance education is linked to social development and global expansion of national business within the framework of government strategies. In Latin America and in Africa, distance education provides assistance in equalising educational opportunities and in promotion of peace. In post-communist countries, academic centres poorly cooperate with administration and business sectors, which offer competitive and most attractive distance education courses. Algorithmisation of distant education courses results in insufficient development of self-reliance, creativity, and empathy of employees.
