In the research undertaken, the analysis categorised risk in the experience of the millennial generation of backpackers. An attempt was made to systematise it on the basis of the cognitive as well as emotional characteristics presented by the respondents. The research was conducted between 2018-2020. A non-random selection was used to acquire respondents called snowball sampling. 409 Polish millennial backpackers were found and interviewed online, and from this code keys were then extracted, assigned to meaningful categories, and thematic ranges were defined. The analysis of the collected qualitative material was used to establish a typology of risk for millennial backpacking. Analysis of the collected material on backpacking allowed five coded risk categories to be extracted. The first one was the backpacker's attitude towards travel; the second a search for autonomy and independence; the third selective calculation in terms of ‘profit and loss’, the balance determining behaviour; the fourth connected with the emotional needs of backpackers and the search for impressions; the fifth with external conditions involving risk related to environmental and cultural features of the reception area. Typological systematization of risk in backpacking allows the needs of this groups of travellers to be understood and service provision to be adapted to the requirements of a particular generation.

Today, mobile technologies have become an inseparable element of travel planning. They give travellers access to all necessary information on an ongoing basis from almost anywhere in the world. The largest group of application users on mobile devices are members of the young generation, in particular Y and Z. The practical goal of the article was to present the ways of using mobile applications in tourism by members of the Y generation. The analysis of the survey results indicated that two-thirds of the respondents used mobile applications to organize a trip, and the rest combined traditional and modern tools in order to achieve the highest efficiency. At the same time, 98.9% of respondents believed that mobile applications would take over a significant part of the tourism market or even dominate the market in the coming years along with the development of their quality and usability. Surveys were conducted among 94 users of these technological solutions and the research results are presented in descriptive and graphic form, and a characterization of the studied generation was also made

One of the fundamental pillars of properly set up marketing communication is customer orientation, defining their needs and preferences and then creating their profiles. Following this fact, the aim of the study is to create subsegments of Generation Y (Millennials) in the Czech market based on identified factors in terms of lifestyle as the non-traditional segmentation descriptive variable. In order to achieve the aim of the study, AIO parameters within psychographic segmentation were used to process primary data collected by marketing research carried out in the form of a questionnaire. Overall, 999 respondents who are residents of the Czech Republic participated in this marketing research. The characteristics of Generation Y (Millennials) and the determination of the main points for external and internal marketing strategies create the basis for the comparison of subsegments based on the criteria determining the possible success of the company in this process.

In this paper we address some of the issues surrounding the use of educational technology solutions with first year net generation students in an introductory education studies unit. These issues include the need for more engaging learning experiences, the role of technology in supporting this need, and the possible mismatch between expectations and actual needs. The student usage and access of a low-cost, flexible alternative to face-to-face individual or group-based academic support was the focus of this case study. We describe our rationale and attempt to help students with their assignment requirements in a first year teacher education unit through the development of a small-scale self-directed intervention program, and report on student engagement with the model. Analysis of the data brings to light findings that have implications for policy design and shows a need for timely research to better inform lecturers of their students’ digital literacy, acceptance and access, and use of innovative learning designs. This also highlights the requirement for a greater awareness of the technologies that students embrace, the technologies that may pose a challenge and the differing needs of first year students to those of the more experienced learners.

The objective of the paper, being methodological in nature, is to specify the conditions conducive to the application of pro-loyalty strategy towards employees, internal clients, following its previously outlined characteristics. A secondary objective, focused on determining practical implications, is to present the range of tools (methods, metrics, and indices) used to assess progress in the implementation of the strategy and its effectiveness. The article, which is based on critical analysis and evaluation of reference books, results in the verification of the hypothesis that the metrics and indices used to diagnose the degree of strategy implementation may form a cause and effect relationship, equivalent to the perspectives defined by R. S. Kaplan and D. P. Norton in their Balanced Scorecard.

Contemporary economics is dominated by logical positivism, a methodology that emphasizes empirical validation of theories but excludes normative evaluation. Preclassical economics was premised on normative analysis. With the growing socialist movement in the USA, especially among the millennials, who are fixated on moral issues of justice and equality, positive economics is alienated from addressing the normative challenges of socialism. There are, however, basic normative principles from Preclassical thought which can be used to contest socialist moral claims, particularly in economics education.

Millennials are the first age cohort that grew up in an internationally connected world. Globalisation has seen the emergence of a global culture that affects national cultures. Millennials will soon represent the majority of the global workforce. Therefore, understanding their job expectations in light of cultural globalisation is crucial for organisations to attract and retain them as employees. This study explores whether millennials’ job expectations depend on their cultural background. A questionnaire-based research project was conducted in Poland, Germany and Chile, countries characterised by significant cultural differences according to a six-dimension model developed by Geert Hofstede. The research compared the job-related expectations of the young age cohort that may be culture-dependent and independent. The findings and recommendations can be useful for leaders of organisations to create a millennial attractive work environment and for further academic research.
