In this article the author addresses the following questions: “What are the conditions of professional career planning in the unifying world”, “What is meant by career planning in the unifying world?”, “Can any regularities pertaining to career planning in the unifying world be established?”, “What are the relations and correlations between such factors as assessment and motivation in the development of the professional career?”, “What is the role of these factors?”, “Where does the information about future workers come from and how are they then motivated?”. The author analyses the procedures used most often, aiming at getting basic information, crucial for the assessment of personal requirements, about the candidates.

Kariera zawodowa we współczesnej rzeczywistości społecznej i zawodowej nabiera coraz większego znaczenia. Jest ona pochodną dwóch najistotniejszych sfer życia, którymi bez wątpienia są aktywność edukacyjna i zawodowa jednostki. Są to te aktywności, które w życiu każdej jednostki zajmują największą część ich życia. Tym samym ich kariera zawodowa zależeć będzie w dużym stopniu od umiejętności kierowania własnym rozwojem zawodowym. Ważne zatem jest żeby wiedzieć i rozumieć czym jest ów rozwój zawodowy i jakie są czynniki od, których zależny jest zarówno przebieg, jak i poziom tego rozwoju, a także własna droga do kariery zawodowej. Artykuł ten tworzą dwie części. Pierwsza jest swoistego rodzaju tłem teoretycznym dotyczącym istoty rozwoju zawodowego i kariery zawodowej jednostki. Natomiast druga zawiera dane dotyczące tej problematyki, uzyskane od studentów WSH TWP w czasie przeprowadzonych badań jakościowych. Zawiera również analizy jakościowe zgromadzonych danych.

A professional career in contemporary social and professional reality is gaining more and more importance. It is a derivative of the two most important spheres of life, which are undoubtedly the educational and professional activity of an individual. These are the activities that occupy the largest part of each individual's life. Their professional career will largely depend on the ability to manage their own professional development. Therefore it is important to know and understand what this professional development is and what are the factors on which both the course and level of this development depend, as well as your own path to a professional career. This article consists of two parts. The first is a kind of theoretical background concerning the essence of an individual's professional development and career. The second one contains data on this subject, obtained during the qualitative research from students of WSH TWP. It also includes qualitative analyzes of the collected data.

Educational, professional and family careers can promote each other, but more often they compete with each other, especially in a case of women. These careers change over time. This article aims to analyze changes over time of selected macro indicators, describing the careers of women in Poland. Analyses of macro indicators’ trends and inequality between women and men were performed. Data came from the Polish Central Statistical Office‘s publications.

Kariery te bardzo zmieniają się w czasie. Celem artykułu jest analiza zmian w czasie wybranych makro wskaźników, opisujących te kariery kobiet w Polsce. Na podstawie danych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego w Polsce przeprowadzono analizę liniowych i nieliniowych trendów tych makro wskaźników oraz analizę rozbieżności w tych makro wskaźnikach między kobietami a mężczyznami.

In the article, the author presents the main theses of his Psychologia dążeń I skłonności zawodowych (Psychology of Vocational Strivings and Inclinations, Jarosiewicz, 2012). Empirically grounded, the study draws on career counselling practice, in particular on the provision of career diagnosis on the basis of multiplechoice tests (Achtnich, 2010). Analysing the assumptions behind such qualitative techniques, the author comes to distinguish the phenomenon of choice as such within a wider group of decision-making processes. He defi nes “choice” as settling on the object of wanting. Choice-making is informed by a person’s prior experiences and desires crystallized as strivings. A person tends to choose what s/he fi nds personally suitable, because the role of choice consists in subjective directing of one’s activity, that is in self-directing. The author contrasts the subjectivity of choices with the objectivity of decisions, and even with their objectivism in their role of directing things.

The text covers the first stages of the headteacher function: becoming a headteacher. Presented are the specific phases of the career of each headteacher, specifically the decision to make a career change (to become headteacher), the assumption of the headteacher function, and the adaptation to the new professional role. The reserach on which the contribution is based was conceived as a qualitative investigation. Through the method of life history, important life events in the start of headteachers’ professional careers are outlined. The framework design for data collection and interpretation was the narrative approach in the form of a comprehensive method of life history. The retrospective view makes it possible to grasp the interaction between the image of important life events and the vertical shifts in the hitherto career. Also, the text supports the hypothesis that such stages not only shape the future development of the headteachers’ professional careers but significantly affect school management.

Changes in the world are the result civilization development and these factors influence internal structure of individual human rapidly. The man has to present easily adaptive personality all the time. The key context to meet these requirements are broadly defined educational processes. Thus in the context of society of knowledge and work which is drifting in the flood of information, particular attention should be paid to competences, looking for the answer about their optimal structure in order to give them practical, professional aspect, which is contemporary more and more often characterized by using the term of professional career.

The questions related with forming of the readiness of the future teacher of higher school to the realization of the professional career and management of the staff of the educational establishment in the conditions of market relations are analyzed in the article. It turns out the value of strategy and strategic management of the staff in education, necessity for effective activity of both educational establishments on the whole and process of forming of the readiness of the future teacher of higher school to realization of the professional career in particular. In connection with a grant to the process of forming of readiness of future teachers of higher school to the professional career of one status of priority directions of activity of higher educational establishment in relation to preparation, there is a necessity to define the ways of her forming, namely: perfection of the organizationally-methodical providing of professional preparation of students, perfection of maintenance of professional preparation taking into account modern progress of corresponding industries, creation of environment, friendly to forming of readiness of young people to the professional career, introduction of interactive studies and innovative technology education, trends.At modern terms in the market relations of management a personnel on the whole and by the frames of society in particular planning and realization of strategy must become the constituents of this process. Thus it should be noted, important is an acceptance of higher school of understanding of that the strategic aims of frames of society can be realized only by a personnel that consists of a future teachercompetence. It is presently needed first of all fully to realize that clear strategy of management of higher educational establishment a personnel taking into account questions in relation to forming of readiness of graduating students of establishment to the professional career is a mortgage of his success. Will mark that existent schools of strategic management can be divided into three groups: conception of strategic deference to rank, conception of the strategic prevailing, conception of strategic parity. Conception of strategic deference to rank includes for itself the task of higher leaders to organization on the protracted period, skilled strategy, determination of forming trajectory and rational use of highly skilled shots. Conception of the strategic prevailing envisages the concordance of aims of guidance, possibilities of enterprise or educational establishment and interests of workers; an increase of motivation is in realization of the accepted program; forming of totality of requirements to the personnel and level of efficiency of his work, and also gives the detailed description of functions of management a personnel.

Nowadays managers are facing a great challenge, the issue of reconciling different generations of employees who exist together. The aim of the paper is to present the basic differences in attitude towards work and professional career representatives of generations X and Y. The study discusses author`s survey research concerning an opinion of employees in Lower Silesia companies, as the representatives of generation X and students on the fifth year of UE in Wrocław – the representatives of generation Y, and also the results of research of other authors referring to this issue. The paper is based on literature studies, survey and personal interviews.

One of the factors increasing their chances to have a successful career are not only relevant competences, qualifications and proactive behaviours to the benefit of their own development, but also their trust in their own abilities. In this article it has been attempted to confirm the thesis on the existence of co-dependence between the individual’s proactivity and self-efficacy in the process of developing a professional career. To this end, a review of selected theoretical depictions on both, constructs and results of research explorations specifying mutual relations, was conducted. The observations made have both, theoretical and practical implications that are interesting in cognitive terms. The analysis thereof may prove to be especially important with regard to young people who are preparing to enter the labour market.

The article presents the specificity of women’s professional careers and their situation and social roles in the context of dynamic changes in the labor market: evident intellectualization and digitization ofworking environments, significantly changing career concepts as well as ways to achieve it. This is particularly important in relation to the career paths of women, mainly due to the need to reconcil work with family responsibilities. Therefore, it becomes important to highlight practical solutions for organizations that aim to create programs to support women in their aspirations and career ambitions, to make work time more flexible and to promote gender diversity in the field of organizational culture.

Adopting a proactive attitude focused on professional development is essential in the contemporary, volatile environment. Objective and subjective indicators are used when evaluating the development of a professional career. However, the adequateness of the criteria chosen for evaluation is ambiguous due to the limitations of both objective and subjective measures. In this article, on the basis of a review of literature, objective and subjective measures of professional progression were characterized, and the possible distortions of objective evaluation resulting from applying them were identified. The evolution of the career paradigm results in the need to verify professional development in the modern approach, which strongly highlights the subjective prospects of a professional career that reflect an individually planned concept of oneself. Nevertheless, a possible criticism regarding subjective measures is lack of objectivity in career evaluation. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between the objective and subjective measures of professional careers. The study was based on an online questionnaire which covered 190 employees employed in large and medium-sized companies in Poland. The study confirmed the positive relationship between the measures, and shows the direction of the relationship, showing that the subjective and objective criteria commensurately indicate career development. Career satisfaction can be successfully used in the assessment of professional development, thus giving reliable results for its advancement.

The study focused on career of young educated adults in Poland. Professional expectations of the people completing university studies in Poland were compared with the needs of the labour market. Potential willingness to change job and workplace was presented. A tendency to start own business by the young educated Poles, as well as taking additional course of study in order to secure one’s professional future was also analyzed.

The text represents some of the results of a qualitative research aimed at the recognition of the life and professional careers of basic school headteachers. Attention is mainly focused on the presentation and interpretation of the advanced stages in headteachers’ careers. Following the previous explanatory study about the accession to the headteacher function and the stage of adaptation, the newly identified career stages are interpreted in relation to the developments in headteacher’s attitude to the execution of his/her function. This text brings empirically substantiated arguments explaining the direct relation between headteachers’ professional careers and school management and leadership.

The service sector plays an increasingly important role in modern society, called a consumer society. Nowadays we want to get everything easily and quickly. That is why the fast-food industry, specially McDonald’s company become more and more popular. Work in fast-food restaurants (but not only there) is called a McJob. The term is commonly defined as a low-paid, unskilled, entry-level job with few prospects, one that requires zero creative or intellectual involvement. McJobs are usually filled by young people. This article tries to answer the question whether employment of this type means dehumanization of work or whether it can be an introduction to a professional career.

Warunkiem jest jednak swoista podstawa, którą wyznacza humanizacja kariery w aspekcie jej odpowiedniej syntezy z rozwojem zawodowym, a także pojęciem sukcesu.

Work is an essential activity of an adult human being and has a huge impact on one`s existence in the surrounding world, system of values, mental efficiency and is an essence of life. One of the most important life decisions to be made by young people is associated with the choice of an occupation and a workplace. The aim of the research was to define the main choice criterion of the first workplace for graduates of nursing studies. The results showed that when taking into account work possibilities, the respondents took into consideration: workeducation integration, professional development, good work relations and friendly environment.

The author discusses the most important scientific achievements of Professor Zofia Kurnatowska, one of the most outstanding Polish early medieval archaeologists. Her name is closely connected with postwar research on the emergence of Polish statehood. For years she was engaged in building the scientific and technical infrastructure in Wielkopolska, forming a sound basis for the implementation of long-term research projects in the region. The Author discusses first the stages of her professional career, including her lifelong relation with the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It goes on to describe Prof. Kurnatowska’s research interests and in particular her contribution to the study of Slav culture, finishing with a resume of her extensive publications (621 papers) and her organizational achievements. The author concludes with the statement that Prof. Zofia Kurnatowska was a beacon for many generations of researchers.

W życiu dorosłego człowieka istnieją dwa podstawowe obszary aktywności – praca zawodowa i życie rodzinne. Jednostka pełni w nich najważniejsze role, im też poświęca większość swego czasu. Zachodzące zmiany społeczno-gospodarcze sprawiają, że kobietom przypadają zadania nie tylko związane z wypełnianiem obowiązków rodzicielskich czy macierzyńskich, ale też zawodowych, społecznych i politycznych. Sytuacja ta motywowana jest także przemianami kulturowymi – w literaturze przedmiotu zwraca się uwagę, że „aktywne uczestnictwo kobiet na rynku pracy i zwiększenie ich udziału w zatrudnieniu w krajach europejskich wiąże się nie tylko z procesami emancypacyjnymi, ale również edukacyjnymi”. Proces ten będzie postępował w kierunku równości w każdym obszarze działalności człowieka.

In the life of an adult human being, there exist two essential areas of activity, namely occupational career and family life. It is in them that an individual fulfils the most important roles, and it is also to them that they devote most of their time. The occurring social and economic changes result in the fact that females are charged not only with tasks connected with fulfiling their responsibilities of parents (mothers), but also with the occupational, social and political ones. This situation is also the consequence of cultural transformations; in the literature of the subject, attention is drawn to the fact that ‚the active participation of females in the labour market and increasing their number amongst employees in the countries of Europe is connected not only with the processes of emancipation, but also with those of education’. This process will be continued in the direction of equality in each and every area of the activity of a human being.
