Revmatoidní artritida jako psychický problém

The article deals with the issue of psychic problems of rheumatoid arthritis patients. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory motor system disease with comprehensive impact on the patient's life. The disease is often considered an exclusively physical disease. But such approach is insufficient because the disease is accompanied by motor limitations of different intensities, by pain and by fatigue that cause considerable exhaustion to the patient. The patients often must give up their hobbies and in some cases even their jobs. In most serious cases, even common daily activities including self-servicing actions become an obstacle to the patient. It is therefore logical that the psyche of a patient with such disease is considerably strained. One of the partial goals of the study consisted in mapping the subjectively perceived quality of life of rheumatoid arthritis patients in facet 8, "negative feelings", and in ascertaining whether there is statistically significant relation to facets 1, "pain and discomfort", and 2, "energy and fatigue". Another goal consisted in comparing the subjectively perceived quality of life between men and women with rheumatoid arthritis, as well as between population of rheumatoid arthritis patients and control healthy population. The study was implemented within the research project of the Grant Agency of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice number 120/2012/S, "Reflection of quality of life in nursing", under use of two standardized questionnaires, WHOQOL-100 and HAQ. This article presents exclusively the data acquired based on the WHOQOL-100 questionnaire. The research set consisted of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis from all over the Czech Republic. The size of the set was determined by a statistician at 200 individuals suffering from the disease, in a ratio of 150 women and 50 men. The selection set was derived from the basic set of rheumatoid arthritis patients and can therefore be considered representative with regard to the whole Czech population of rheumatoid arthritis patients. The actual selection of respondents was carried out based on quota selection, at specifying two quotas: presence of the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis" and "gender". The data collection took place from January to May 2013. 214 questionnaires were distributed in total, to achieve the required return amount of 200. The return rate was 93,5 %. The statistical data analysis was performed in two stages. The first degree of data sorting was implemented in the SASD program (Statistic Analysis of Social Data); the second degree was implemented in the SPSS program (Statistical Package for the Social Science), version 15.0. It was ascertained based on the study that up to 90 % of respondents feel problems of different intensity in psychic area. 73,5 % of respondents perceive the problems as obstacle of different intensity to daily life. 66 % respondents reported actual feelings of depression. A very surprising finding consisted in the result of comparison of facet 8, "negative feelings", between the population suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and the control healthy population. Based on the comparison, it was found out that the control healthy respondents reported psychic problems in almost the same frequency and intensity as the rheumatoid arthritis patients. Such a high frequency and sameness to rheumatoid patients occurred probably due to wrong interpretation of the question from the respondents' perspective, particularly in healthy population that uses the term of "depression" relatively often for different common feelings of sadness and mood changes every person faces repeatedly in common life. It is not possible to admit that such a high percentage of healthy population suffers from actual depression. No statistically significant difference was found from the perspective of genders, based on comparison of results of facet 8, "negative feelings". Based on evaluation of relations between facet 8 (negative feelings) and facet 1 (pain and discomfort) and 2 (energy and fatigue), it was found out that there is statistically significant relation between the facets. It can be therefore accepted that patients feeling more intensive fatigue and pain experience more psychic problems and vice versa. The results evidence that therapy of rheumatoid arthritis as somatic disease is not sufficient and that comprehensive approach considering all patient's aspects should be applied in this area.

Wstęp. Trądzik zwykły (acne vulgaris) jest częstym schorzeniem skóry występującym u osób między 11. a 30.rokiem życia. Widoczne wykwity skórne w postaci zaskórników, krost i grudek mogą wpływać znacząco na samopoczucie pacjenta. Długotrwałe leczenie, które nie zawsze przynosi oczekiwane rezultaty, może obniżać jakość życia pacjentów. Cel pracy. Analiza wpływu trądziku zwykłego na codzienne funkcjonowanie studentek kosmetologii oraz studentów fizjoterapii PMWSZ w Opolu i biotechnologii Uniwersytetu Opolskiego. Materiał i metody. Badana grupa składała się z 224 osób, w tym 111 kobiet i 113 mężczyzn w wieku 19–28 lat. Do analizy wykorzystano standaryzowany kwestionariusz HADS (szpitalną skalę lęku i depresji) oraz autorski kwestionariusz ankiety złożony z 14 pytań zamkniętych. Wyniki. Zdecydowana większość (191 osób, 85,27%) badanych czuje się mniej atrakcyjnie z powodu choroby. Dyskomfort fizyczny w postaci bólu, świądu czy pieczenia deklaruje 155 osób (69,2%). Natomiast dyskomfort psychiczny odczuwa 168 respondentów (75%). Wnioski. Badanie dowiodło, iż trądzik zwykły i jego przejawy utrudniają i wpływają na pogorszenie codziennego funkcjonowania ankietowanych.

Background. Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder in people aged 11–30. Visible skin eruptions in forms of blackheads, nodules and pustules may lead to a significant decrease in the quality of life and influence the well-being of a patient greatly. Long-term treatment which does not always bring expected results may also seriously lower the quality of the patients’ lives. Objectives. The analysis of the influence of acne vulgaris on everyday life of the students of cosmetology, physiotherapy in Public Higher Medical Professional School in Opole and Opole University biotechnology students Material and methods. The research group consisted of 224 persons – 111 women and 113 men aged 19–28. For the analysis the authors used standardized HADS questionnaire (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale). A questionnaire prepared by the authors was used which comprised 14 close questions. Results. The research has clearly proven that acne vulgaris makes the lives of the respondents difficult. A great many of them (191 respondents, 85.27%) feel less attractive because of the problem. Physical discomfort such as pain, itchiness, and burning are claimed by 155 respondents (69.2%). Mental discomfort is felt by 168 people (75%). Conclusions. Acne vulgaris significantly makes every day functioning of the respondents worse and hard

This essay begins from an understanding that the study of the of the psyche today is need of something. The ideas presented here are philosophical provocations suggesting by studying the psyche from merely a calculative perspective, we overlook the dynamic flow of language as an integral part of psyches. We wish to undertake the hermeneutic study of psyches, which is to say human beings in the fullness of their being-in-the-world. Language and the psyche are everywhere intertwined, yet how do we talk about these as collective phenomenon, rather than reducing them to separate, calculative functions of the brain? From our hermeneutic perspective we suggest that alternative discourses of myth and poetry are necessary for somehow twisting away from the privileged paradigms of empirical psychology and turning instead toward language. Thus, through our re-readings of the myths, Eros and Psyche, Echo and Narcissus, we demonstrate the inherent relationship between human beings and words. This relationship, then, will be essential for clearing the way for understanding our mytho-poetic orientation toward the world, liberating us from the rigidity of paradigm while still undeniably leaving us with the (loving) struggle for a fitting response to the world.

Writer Volodymyr Vynnychenko aimed to depict a human being as a unique, independent, self-sufficient, self-contained, autonomous world and to reveal its inner potential (according to the writer: “The world – it’s me, my desires”). This world was energised by the strength of the will, an individual’s desire to conquer all facets of life. Volodymyr Vynnychenko masterly interpreted Nitzschean ideas, especially in portrayal of individuals whose will was directed towards rejection of traditional values and replacing them with the new ones. Volodymyr Vynnychenko bravely experimented with the ideas of Nitzsche, Freud, constructed new ontological models of an individual, and deepend it, foremost in the moral-ethical sphere.

Life is such a beautiful and unique phenomenon. It cannot be described by a single definition, as it manifests itself in many different ways. Therefore, the phenomenon of life must be captured as a whole and by including its essential planes. The authors of the paper did interdisciplinary research. Their task was an exploration of the issue of life on three planes: bios (life in its core manifestations), psyche (intelligent and conscious life), and zoe (life that transcends itself). The collected data gives an appropriate perspective for theological insight. This approach determines a methodology that is interdisciplinary and very theological in character. This in-depth perspective enables the whole phenomenon to be understood in its transcendental function. Life from its very inception emerges toward “something more.” The final goal of this transcendental dynamism is ever-living God.

Fenomen życia w perspektywie teologicznej: wprowadzenie w bios, psyche i zoe Życie jest pięknym i wyjątkowym zjawiskiem. Nie można go opisać za pomocą jednej definicji, ponieważ przejawia się na wiele różnych sposobów. Dlatego fenomen życia musi zostać uchwycony jako całość z uwzględnieniem jego podstawowych płaszczyzn. Autorzy pracy przeprowadzili interdyscyplinarne badania naukowe. Ich zadaniem było zgłębienie kwestii życia na trzech płaszczyznach: bios (życie w jego podstawowych przejawach), psyche (życie inteligentne i świadome) i zoe (życie, które przekracza siebie). Zebrane przez nich dane nabierają szczególnego znaczenia dzięki perspektywie teologicznej. Jest to podejście określające metodę pracy – ma ona interdyscyplinarną charakterystykę oraz jest wyrazem myślenia teologicznego. Umożliwia to zrozumienie całego fenomenu w jego transcendentalnej funkcji. Życie od samego początku wyłania się ku „czemuś więcej”. Ostatecznym celem tego transcendentalnego dynamizmu jest wiecznie żywy Bóg.

The life of the brain is believed to be a major factor determining the existence of subjective reality during clinical death. The duration of the existence in question cannot be measured in the units of astronomical time for two reasons. Firstly, it is impossible to determine once and for all how long the brain survives after cardiac arrest and termination of breathing. Secondly, the duration of subjective time during near death experience (NDE) differs from that typical of daily regular experience. Immobilization, loss of the sensation of one’s body, state of affect and severe sensory deprivation ensure that consciousness is focused and fixated in and onto itself exclusively which, in its turn, diminish and slacken the course of time so that it expands to eternity and subjective reality goes beyond the usual limits of the temporal “past-present-future” paradigm.

Korean literature has its roots in the past. First of all, it is related to Confucian ideology and, secondly, it is connected to the division of Korea into North and South. The result is that writers are also divided in this way. The history of both countries is marked by turbulent changes, which have shaped their national psyche. The Japanese occupation and the Korean War, which tore the nation apart, surely bore a great influence on its literature. Moreover, the democratic uprisings of the 1980s also had a vast influence on modern Korean writers. This article will introduce the most important modern Korean writers whose works reflect the turbulence of the 20th-century.

After the movement away from metaphysics, in the situation of the organized drowning of Christian reflection, in the general awareness , and even in the humanities (psychology) remains the term psyche, although with no transcendental aspect any more. The object of this paper is the word, while the reality serves only to explain its sense. Another thing is a reflection on the reality, which requires the selection of a set of names, in order to be able to speak about it. A word in itself is conventional, neutral, it does not point to a concrete thing automatically.In the history of the human thought this term has played an important role, has been the object of multiple reflections and has served to express essential truths linked to the ontic structure of the human being and to its existence. Its semantic field used to be identified on one hand with the meaning scope of the terms corresponding to it in other languages as well s of other terms in the same language. A historical analysis, which in a paper can be only sketchy and general, permits to notice that a mingling thinking is not consistent with the actual state of affairs. We are facing a semantic richness, an isolation of characteristic features of individual terms. Each term has its own stem as well as nearer and further peripheries which to a smaller or higher degree have a common part with the neighborhood of the stem of the other terms. This is how the situation with the semantic field of the term psyche is.

The concept of “information metabolism” by Antoni Kępiński and “autopoiesis” by Niklas Luhmann refer back to the structure of biological cells. Both authors assign these biological structures to their respective fields of application. While Kępiński seeks to determine the functioning of the psyche, Luhmann integrates the biological approach into his theory of living and psychic systems. While reading Kępiński’s and Luhmann’s work, it becomes clear that both authors point to the close relationship between the psychological system and the psychic system with their respective environment. In Luhmann’s work, the relationship between the system and the environment is extensively described and elaborated. Against this background, his remarks are used in this paper to reflect on Kępiński’s idea of “information metabolism”, understood as the relationship between the psyche and the environment.

Die Konzepte „Informationsmetabolismus“ von Antoni Kępiński und „Autopoiesis“ von Niklas Luhmann rekurrieren auf die Struktur biologischer Zellen. Beide Autoren übertragen diese biologischen Strukturen auf ihre jeweiligen Anwendungsfelder. Während Kępiński die Funktionsweise der Psyche zu bestimmen sucht, integriert Luhmann den biologischen Ansatz in seine Systemtheorie der lebenden und psychischen Systeme. Bei der Lektüre von Kępińskis und Luhmanns Arbeiten wird deutlich, dass beide Autoren das Verhältnis zwischen einerseits Psyche und andererseits psychischem System mit ihrer jeweiligen Umwelt näher bestimmen. In Luhmanns Werk ist das Verhältnis zwischen System und Umwelt umfangreich beschrieben und ausgearbeitet. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden seine Ausführungen im Folgenden verwendet, um Kępińskis Überlegungen zum „Informationsmetabolismus“, dem Verhältnis von Psyche und Umwelt, zu reflektieren.

The object of this paper is the word, while the reality serves only to explain its sense. The paper aims at researching the influence of advertising on the youth and their system of values. Young people are extremely prone to advertising messages and at the same time they are in conjunction with the world of adults and the world of advertising which dramatically influences the profits. Nevertheless, advertising destroys sometimes the system of values of a  young person. That is why the question of morality, understood as the set of norms, principles and ethical behaviour in the society, is crucial in this paper. Advertising is informative and persuasive description of a product, which should raise interest among the viewers. Still, this way of promoting a product is in contradiction with morality and this case has been discussed on a few selected examples. The conclusions support the thesis that advertising is too often against the principles of morality and destroys the system of values, which should be the basis of existence for a young person.

Zagadnieniem poruszanym w tym artykule jest wpływ reklamy na młodzież i jej system wartości. Młodzież jest bardzo podatnym odbiorcą reklamy, a jednocześnie ogniwem między reklamą a dorosłymi, dlatego stanowi ona czynnik, który podnosi zyski z reklam. Jednocześnie jednak reklama często burzy system wartości młodego człowieka. Z tego względu ważne jest poruszone w tej pracy zagadnienie moralności, która jest zespołem norm, zasad i zachowań, uważanych w społeczeństwie za właściwe. Reklama to komunikat informacyjny i perswazyjny, który ma cechy i sposoby oddziaływania powodujące zainteresowanie produktem. Niekiedy jednak jest ona sprzeczna z moralnością, co zostało omówione na kilku przykładach. Z podsumowania rozważań wynika, że reklama często jest niezgodna z moralnością i burzy system wartości, na którym młody człowiek powinien się opierać.

The article looks at postmodern culture through the prism of views of James Hillman and the school of archetypal psychology.

This paper lists the problems that philosophical therapy deals with and tries to provide a definition of philosophical therapy. In particular, we find references to Homeric psychology, contemporary therapeutic trends, and examples of the use of philosophical therapy (observation records after individual sessions of philosophical therapy or group work). This article develops the connections between philosophical therapy and the ancient understanding of philosophy (ancient spiritual exercises). Autor wylicza problemy, którymi zajmuje się terapia filozoficzna i podejmuje próbę podania jej definicji. W tekście znajdziemy odwołania do psychologii homeryckiej, współczesnych nurtów terapeutycznych oraz przykładów zastosowania terapii filozoficznej (zapisy obserwacji osób po odbyciu indywidualnej sesji terapii filozoficznej lub pracy grupowej). W artykule ukazany został związek terapii filozoficznej ze starożytnym pojmowaniem filozofii (antyczne ćwiczenia duchowe).
