In a sense, it is the realization that nobody would talk about his or her intimate existential experiences, or Erlebnisse, to a tape-reading machine. The object of sociology is not an object. It is a person, a human being living in society, and as such it must be dealt with.

As the social responsibility notion developed, it caught the interest of not only businesses but also other organizations, including universities. The project described in the article aimed at researching how higher education institutions develop their social responsibility strategies. The desk research carried out covered the analysis of GRI database entries where the universities’ social responsibility and sustainable development reports are stored as well as the analysis of selected reports and universities’ websites. The two main findings of that research are: the growing social responsibility of the universities has been proved, and a vast diversity of the strategies applied was observed. As a result, seven models of creating the university strategy have been identified and described in the paper. In conclusion, we must stress that there are no universal standards regarding the placement of the strategy in the university general development plans, neither its scope, the process of creation nor the way it is communicated.

W artykule zanalizowano, w jaki sposób osobowość determinuje aktywność obywatelską młodych wyborców w Polsce. Aby to sprawdzić, przeprowadzono badania empiryczne łączące cechy z modelu Wielkiej Piątki (ekstrawersja, ugodowość, sumienność, stabilność emocjonalna, intelekt) oraz, w przeciwieństwie do innych badań, cztery rodzaje aktywności obywatelskiej (zaangażowanie społeczne, partycypacja polityczna, partycypacja wyborcza, indywidualna aktywność polityczna). Analiza z wykorzystaniem modelu regresji liniowej metodą najmniejszych kwadratów (OLS) wykazała istotny wpływ ekstrawersji na większość przejawów aktywności obywatelskiej. Badani, którzy uzyskali wyższe wyniki w wymiarze ekstrawersji, częściej angażowali się w działania zaklasyfikowane jako indywidualna działalność polityczna, zaangażowanie społeczne i partycypacja polityczna. Ponadto intelekt wiązał się z indywidualną aktywnością polityczną, podczas gdy stabilność emocjonalna nie miała istotnego wpływu na aktywność obywatelską. Badanie wykazało również pewne zależności między aktywnością obywatelską a modelem Wielkiej Piątki. Ugodowość pozytywnie wpływała na zaangażowanie społeczne i partycypację wyborczą, podczas gdy sumienność zwiększyła partycypację polityczną.

The article analyzes how personality determines the civic activity of young voters in Poland. To check this, empirical research combining Big Five traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, intellect) and, unlike other studies, four types of civic activity (social commitment, political participation, electoral participation, individual political activity) was conducted. The OLS regression analysis revealed a significant effect of extraversion on most manifestations of civic activity. Those who score higher on this trait were more likely to involve in individual political activity, social commitment, and political participation. Moreover, intellect was associated with individual political activity, while emotional stability had no significant impact on civic activity. The study also discovered some dependencies with the other Big Five traits. Agreeableness positively influenced social commitment and electoral participation, while conscientiousness increased political participation.

The issue of gender justice increasingly shifts on to the core commitments of the World Council of Churches (WCC). Matters related to gender appear in a number of statements, commissions, programs and documents held within various bodies of the WCC. The survey of these commitments seems to be difficult to make, due to their diversity reflecting geographical, ethnic, economic and cultural background. This is partly affected by a nature of the WCC as it is the global platform where ideas from whole world are discovered, interpreted and passed on to the world. Article deals with the issue of gender justice and its place in the social discourse of the World Council of Churches.

Kwestia sprawiedliwości gender przesuwa się wciąż do centrum społecznego zaangażowania Światowej Rady Kościołów (ŚRK). Zagadnienia związane z upośledzeniem kobiet pojawiają się w szeregu stanowisk, komisji, programów i dokumentów, które opracowywane są w obrębie różnych komórek i instytucji ŚRK. Przegląd różnych dróg zaangażowania odzwierciedla geograficzną, kulturową, ekonomiczną i etniczną różnorodność Światowej Rady Kościołów. Jest to po części spowodowane samą jej naturą, ŚRK jest bowiem globalną platformą, na której idee i pojęcia z całego świata są odkrywane, interpretowane i prezentowane światu. Artykuł omawia zagadnienie upośledzenia kobiet i jego miejsce w społecznym dyskursie Światowej Rady Kościołów.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników badań pierwotnych i wtórnych pozwalających na weryfikację zależności dotyczącej wpływu zaangażowania społecznego i przywiązania do miejsca zamieszkania na poziom satysfakcji klientów z usług samorządu lokalnego. Podstawę weryfikacji stanowiły wyniki przeprowadzonych badań ankietowych, które w postępowaniu badawczym uzupełniono studiami literaturowymi. Rezultatem analiz jest identyfikacja modelu potwierdzającego przyjęte założenie.

An aim of the article is to present findings of primary and secondary research along verification of the dependence related to the impact of social commitment and attachment to the residence on the level of customer satisfaction with services provided by the local self-government. The grounds for verification were results of the carried out surveys supplemented in the course of research with literature studies. An outcome of analyses is identification of the model confirming the adopted premise.

Цель статьи – представить результаты первичных и вторичных исследований, позволяющих провести верификацию зависимости, касающейся влияния социального вовлечения и приверженности к месту жительства на уровень удовлетворения клиентов от услуг местного самоуправления. Основу для верификации представляли результаты проведенных опросов, которые по ходу изучения дополнили изучением литературы. Результат анализов – выявление модели, подтверждающей принятое предположение.

The article concerns the reception by Fr. Blachnicki thoughts of John Paul II’s encyclical Dives in misericordia. Formulating the program of human liberation Fr. Blachnicki closely tied it with evangelization and deuterocatechumenate formation. This program is founded on the biblical concept of liberation or salvation, based on the paradigm of the Exodus and on Christian anthropology, especially expressed in the encyclical John Paul II’s Redemptor hominis. The study proved that the Church’s teaching on God’s Mercy allowed F. Blachnicki to formulate the fundamental thesis of “liberation by truth” regarded as “the basic work of mercy”. Thus, “Polish liberation theology” understood in that way displayed its realization in the social commitment based on the evangelization program Ad Christum Redemptorem and in its three phases of proclaiming God’s Mercy – prayer, kerygma, liberation.

Opracowanie dotyczy recepcji przez ks. F. Blachnickiego myśli encykliki Jana Pawła II Dives in misericordia. Ks. Blachnicki formułując program wyzwolenia człowieka, ściśle wiązał go z ewangelizacją i formacją deuterokatechumenalną. Program ten bazuje na biblijnej koncepcji wyzwolenia czyli zbawienia, opartej na paradygmacie Exodusu oraz na antropologii chrześcijańskiej ukazywanej przez Jana Pawła II, szczególnie w encyklice Redemptor hominis. W opracowaniu autor wykazał, iż nauczanie Kościoła o Bożym miłosierdziu pozwoliło F. Blachnickiemu na sformułowanie fundamentalnej tezy o wyzwoleniu przez prawdę jako podstawowemu dziełu miłosierdzia. Tak rozumiana „teologia wyzwolenia” ks. Blachnickiego znalazła swe odzwierciedlenie w zaangażowaniu społecznym opartym na programie ewangelizacji Ad Christum Redemptorem i jego trzech fazach głoszenia Bożego miłosierdzia – modlitwa, kerygmat, wyzwolenie.
