Thesis. The aim of the research is to confirm the role of language as a tool empowering school students to act independently in educational activities and sociocultural environment. This can be achieved by encouraging students to actively participate in educational activities, to learn a language and other academic subjects without any direct input. Methods. The article is based on a scientific literature analysis and monitoring at one of the language integrated learning centres. It studies discussed hereof showcase the importance of language integration and a broader understanding of teaching students the basics of language skills. Results. The analysis shows language skills are a result (synthesis) of abilities and competencies combined by different disciplines and programmes. It is directly related to the methods, measures, situations and environments employed in educational activities. The studies discussed hereof showcase the importance of language integration and a broader understanding of teaching students the basics of language skills. Conclusion. Based on the research results it is possible to distinguish language as an independent learning tool. This is proven by such student skills as high motivation and inclusion; courage and self-confidence; ability to analyse, reason and summarise information; openness to learning; independence; curiosity; focus and concentration. The comparison of the data and the literature analysis allow concluding that this is one of the most resultative methods to develop the language skills of students in an integrated way.

The article deals with the essence and functions of sociocultural education as the mean of purposeful management of pupils’ socialization. The content of the notions “public education” and “social education” are grounded. The rules of sociocultural education in the context of pedagogical activity of primary school teacher: dependence of the aim, content, methods, facilities and forms of pedagogical activity on teaching and educational situations and the conditions of its performance; humanistic and cultural direction of social and pedagogical process in microenvironment of school; integrity and system approach of social and educational influences of a teacher in the aspect of prevention of negative pupils’ actions, provision of optimal management of educational process for achieving results, maximum possible in such conditions; conditionality of educational success by level of professional teacher’s mastering; necessity of coordination of social and educational influences of school, family and society.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the definition of social competence and its application in police practice, introduction of the police officer social competence structure, the subsequent description of its components. The efficiency in problems solving, which police officer encounter in daily service, as well as the quality of cooperation between police and community directly depends on the level of social competence development, the interiorization of social norm and values in personality structure of police officer, such as tolerance, respect of human rights, motivation for social interaction, culture of communication, social intelligence, emotionally-volitional stability etc. Therefore, the objectives of educative work in police high school have to include the purposeful formation of social competence as a requirement of contemporary democratic society. Another aspect of social competence formation in police cadets through educational means is utilization of moral potential of education, which is essential in rapidly changing societies for efficient socialization of such professional group as police officers.

The aim of this paper is to examine the specific character of the international students’ socialization according to the features of information society, focus on the information component of socialization process of this category of student youth in sociocultural environment. Research methodology. The paper provides theoretical foundations of reforming the content of education in Ukraine, conceptual provisions for the development of education in our country and its integration into the world educational environment. Results. The author demonstrates the importance of taking into account the features of sociocultural environment of information society in the process of the international students’ socialization. Special attention is paid to socialization of the international students. The paper presents the following stages of socialization: social adaptation, social integration and social individualization. The features of their information and media socialization as the components of socially controlled socialization as well as the use of the elements of media education in the process of social education are identified. Media education is considered in the present day educational process of the international students as the development of their personality by means of mass media aimed at forming the culture of communication, creative and communicative abilities, critical thinking, skills of perception, interpretation, analysis and evaluation of media texts as well as studying various ways of self expression through up-to-date information technologies. The author presents the special courses aimed at developing information literacy and information culture of the international students in the process of socialization. The practical significance. The information contained in this paper may be used in practice to support the correspondence of international students’ education in our country to its integration into the world scientific, educational and cultural environment. Prospects of further research are considered as the study of the role of social and pedagogical support of the international students socialization in developing interaction between international students and Ukrainian sociocultural environment taking into account its features as the environment of information society.
