The system of athlete - a combination educational influences during a focused multi-training process, contributing to the development of a general human and moral qualities of the person, and the formation of the specific condition of the young man (athlete) required to achieve a high competitive performance in the sport. However, poorly disclosed the role of teaching factors in sports training system, which in addition to learning motor tasks actions enable the organization to promote sports activities personality. As a general trend, with domestic practice sports higher achievements, you can select that athletes have emerged in the minds of the validity of their sporting discipline, and which are at the stages to realize individual potential and preservation of high sports significantly more independent in their actions and decision-making. Sports activities formed to the extent of becoming an athlete person under the laws of transformation of quantitative changes in the new quality. To manage this transition, we must understand: it something like the effort of thinking parents «put up» their children, although in doing so they lose them, because figuratively speaking, become useless young shoots. The process of formation of the person which is in question begins with the formation of an athlete who already understand their responsibility for the final result image «itself in the desired future». You need to imagine what kind of person to whom an athlete I would see myself. If the image with the help of a coach or other adult family created by a reliable guide not only for sports activities, but also a person of life. Sports activity is remarkable such as thinking and controlled by a person's own activity as a skilled athlete is not only able to take responsibility for their own behavior, given the following training and competition, but also exercise the right here and now, initiative and resourcefulness to ensure the achievement (and repetition) competitive desired result.

The main objective of this article is to present an overall insight into the legal status of sportsmen in Poland, from 1984 to 1996, i.e., in the period when the sports system was thoroughly transformed. The study uses historical and formal-dogmatic methods. In addition, the author interviewed a long-time curator of Legia Warsaw Museum and a sports fan, perfectly familiarised with reality of sport in Poland at that time, which enriches theoretical and legal considerations with a practical value. The research strives to draw attention to the importance of political aspects in the sports sector within the era of late socialism and in the first years after the transformation of political system in Poland. Additionally, it also aims to discuss their ramifications for legal protection of players. The author highlights the implications of interventionist regulatory model in sport which was adopted by the authorities of People’s Republic of Poland by virtue of the Physical Culture Act of 3 June 1984. The article also presents the main tasks and importance of the state in process of creating the sports reality, in particular the position of Polish athletes. The article includes theoretical and practical issues related to amateur sport under the socialism in Poland. The research is intended to compare the regulatory framework concerning sportsmen stated in the Physical Culture Act of 3 June 1984 with the provisions of the Physical Culture Act of 18 January 1996. The author undertakes an evaluation of specific legal institutions from the point of view of the competition between Polish sport on the world stage and dynamic development of professional sport.

Głównym zamierzeniem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie analizy prawnej statusu prawnego zawodnika w Polsce w latach 1984-1996, czyli w okresie, w którym dokonywała się gruntowna transformacja systemu sportowego. W publikacji wykorzystano przede wszystkim metodę historyczną oraz formalno-dogmatyczną. Ponadto autor przeprowadził wywiad z wieloletnim kustoszem Muzeum Legii Warszawa i kibicem sportowym, doskonale zorientowanym w realiach ówczesnego sportu w Polsce, co wzbogaca rozważania teoretyczno-prawne o walor praktyczny. Dokonane badania uwzględniają znaczenie aspektów politycznych, w szczególności ustrojowych i gospodarczych, z okresu późnego socjalizmu oraz pierwszych lat po transformacji ustrojowej w Polsce, a także ich konsekwencje w kontekście ochrony prawnej sportowców. Autor zwraca w nich w szczególności uwagę na poważne implikacje interwencjonistycznego modelu regulacyjnego w sporcie przyjętego na mocy ustawy z dnia 3 czerwca 1984 r. o kulturze fizycznej dla całego sektora sportowego. W artykule przedstawiono główne zadania i znaczenie państwa w kreowaniu rzeczywistości sportowej, w tym w szczególności pozycji polskich sportowców. W publikacji zawarto ponadto teoretyczno-prawne i praktyczne rozważania nad amatorskim statusem sportu w dobie socjalizmu. W przedmiotowych badaniach dokonano również porównania ram instytucjonalno-prawnych zawartych w dwóch podstawowych ustawach regulujących stricte sferę sportu z tamtego okresu, tj. w ustawie z dnia 3 czerwca 1984 r. o kulturze fizycznej oraz w ustawie z dnia 18 stycznia 1996 r. o kulturze fizycznej. Autor podejmuje się oceny konkretnych rozwiązań prawnych z punktu widzenia rywalizacji polskiego sportu na arenie światowej z dynamicznie rozwijającym się sportem profesjonalnym.
