Energy tokens as digital instruments of financial investment

The aim of the paper is to evaluate the investment attractiveness of selected energy tokens from the point of view of the effectiveness measures applied to ordinary financial instruments. The authors also classify energy tokens among climate-aligned tokens and digital instruments of green investments financing. In this way, it was possible to compare energy tokens against traditional financial instruments. Furthermore, the authors attempted to investigate the relationship between the formation of returns of the researched energy tokens and the returns on stock and commodity markets. The results of the study indicate the low investment attractiveness of energy tokens compared to investments in stock markets, commodity markets and investments in major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The research therefore indicates that buyers of energy tokens today should not be driven by investment or speculative motives but rather by a desire to obtain a means of clearing energy trading, or other utility.

This paper introduces some major conceptual enhancements to the morphological annotation of the SYN series corpora of the Czech National Corpus. Apart from minor changes in tokenization and in the positional tagset, three major conceptual changes have been applied which affect the representation of various lexical and grammatical patterns. In the paper, we present the actual impact of the changes in linguistic data and search for possibilities in three linguistic areas. First, the treatment of phonic, graphemic, and morphological variants via a two-tier lemma structure is discussed; second, a new approach to periphrastic verb forms, auxiliaries, participles and the interpretation of verbal grammatical categories through a new attribute, called verbtag, is explained; and third, a complex multi-value treatment of multiword tokens is introduced.

The article presents the concept of tokenization and an attempt to assess its market potential. Tokenization - is a form of business digitization based on decentralized blockchain technology. It consists in creating tokens and assigning them to a specific project, company, or person. With the development of blockchain technology and its institutional environment, the tokenization potential is growing thanks to smart contracts, and it will allow to tokenize all kinds of assets while reducing transaction costs. For now, tokenization can be treated as a niche in decentralized finance (DeFi), which, thanks to regulation ensuring efficiency and security, is gradually shifting to the mainstream.

Autorzy wyjaśniają pojęcie tokenizacji oraz podejmują próbę oceny jej potencjału rynkowego. Tokenizacja to forma cyfryzacji biznesu oparta na zdecentralizowanej technologii blockchain. Polega na tworzeniu tokenów i przypisywaniu ich do konkretnego projektu, firmy lub osoby. Wraz z rozwojem technologii blockchain oraz otoczenia instytucjonalnego, w szczególności infrastruktury rynku finansowego, potencjał tokenizacji rośnie dzięki inteligentnym kontraktom i pozwala tokenizować wszelkiego rodzaju aktywa obniżając jednocześnie koszty transakcyjne. Na razie tokenizację można traktować jako niszę na rynku zdecentralizowanych finansów (DeFi), która ze względu na regulację zapewniającą efektywność i bezpieczeństwo stopniowo przesuwa się do mainstreamu. Autorzy stwierdzają, że rozwojowi potencjału rynkowego tokenów może służyć zarówno adaptacja dotychczasowej infrastruktury rynku finansowego, jak i budowa nowych infrastruktur opartych na blockchain.
