The accessibility of Poland's Space to the Trans-European Transport Network

The aim of the article is to analyse the land transport accessibility of two trans-European corridors within the boundaries of Poland. The adjustment of the course of transport routes to the distribution of the population and the country's land development (including economic potential and logistic infrastructure) was outlined using measurements of cumulative accessibility. The results were presented in both cartographic form (isochrone approach) and tabular form (cumulative approach). Research was conducted adopting different forms of transport used for relocation (including foot traffic, car, rail and multimodal transport) and both the current and target layout of the transport network. This made it possible to determine the changes that will effectively run the process of investment in transport infrastructure on Polish territory. This allowed the identification of the areas of Poland which are particularly conveniently located in relation to domestic connections (in terms of the international network) and those for which the European transport network remains difficult to access.

The authors in their article delineate the position of the Republic of Korea and the port of Busan on a logistic map of the world. They point out the port’s fundamental success factors together with past actions which allowed Busan to become a logistic centre of north-east Asia. In particular, the authors emphasize the role of the strategic location of the port in the transport corridors. Reflections on the role of the port of Busan are illustrated through statistics and rankings created by institutions of global importance, e.g. The World Bank and the OECD.

Autorzy w swoim artykule kreślą pozycję Republiki Korei i portu Busan na mapie logistycznej świata. Wskazują na podstawowe czynniki sukcesu portu Busan i wysiłki jakie są podejmowane dla osiągniecia pozycji najważniejszego centrum logistycznego w Azji Północnowschodniej. Szczególnie autorzy podkreślają rolę strategicznej lokalizacji portu w korytarzach transportowych. Rozważania o roli portu Busan obrazują danymi statystycznymi oraz ocenami instytucji o światowym znaczeniu np. Banku Światowego czy OECD.

В статье проанализировано технологическое состояние международных транспортных коридоров и объемы перевозок грузов территорией Украины. Представленная характеристика международных транспортных коридоров описывает восемь коридоров, проходящих по террито-рии Украины. В статье также выявлены проблемы использования транзитного потенциала меж-дународных транспортных коридоров Украины. В то же время рассмотрены перспективы исполь-зования транзитного потенциала международных транспортных коридоров за счет развития логистической инфраструктуры и создания транспортно-логистических центров.

In this article the technological state of international transport corridors and the freight volumes by the territory of Ukraine are analyzed. A presented characteristic of international transport corridors describes eight corridors, which pass through the territory of Ukraine. The article exposes the problems of transit potential usage of the international transport corridors of Ukraine. At the same time the perspectives of transit potential usage of the international transport corridors for account of logistical infrastructure development and creation of transport-logistical centers are considered.

W opracowaniu analizie poddano stan technologiczny międzynarodowych korytarzy transportowych i rozmiary przewozów przez terytorium Ukrainy. Przedstawione charakterystyki międzynarodowych korytarzy transportowych dotyczą ośmiu korytarzy, które przechodzą przez terytorium Ukrainy. W artykule wyeksponowano problemy wykorzystania potencjału tranzytowego międzynarodowych korytarzy transportowych Ukrainy. Jednocześnie rozważaniom poddano perspektywy wykorzystania potencjału tranzytowego międzynarodowych korytarzy transportowych pod kątem rozwoju infrastruktury logistycznej oraz kreacji centrów transportowo-logistycznych.
