: In this article the author attempts to interpret legal regulations in which such notions as wartime, the state of war or martial law appear. She also analyses definitions of aggression, armed invasion and points out that both legal loopholes and vagueness of regulations in this matter may pose a threat against security. The article features an analysis of the mentioned above terms basing on the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, selected acts of law and certain acts of international law.
