Zasadniczym celem niniejszego szkicu jest próba przeglądu i klasyfikacji nazw pawilonu „Akwarium i Terrarium”, nadesłanych przez bydgoszczan, w ramach „Konkursu na nazwę pawilonu na terenie Ogrodu Fauny Polskiej w Bydgoszczy”, zorganizowanego w listopadzie 2012 roku przez Prezydenta Miasta Bydgoszczy. Typologia została przeprowadzona przede wszystkim z uwzględnieniem kryterium semantycznego. Na jego podstawie poszczególne nazwy włączono do określonych grup o wspólnej lub podobnej motywacji. Nie bez znaczenia w klasyfikacji nazw jest też kryterium strukturalne.

The main aim of the present work is an attempt to review and classify the proper names for the “Aquarium and Terrarium” pavilion. The names were submitted by the inhabitants of Bydgoszcz within the “Competition for the name of the pavilion in the Polish Fauna Garden in Bydgoszcz”, organized in November 2012 by the Mayor of Bydgoszcz. The typology is based primarily on the semantic criterion according to which the individual names were included in specific groups with common or similar motivation. Also the structural criterion was not without significance in the classification of the names.

The main purpose of the article is to determine the means of functioning of the conceptof language ethics in the awareness of the students in Bydgoszcz. The respondents, on the onehand, signal certain questions connected with language ethics and exchange views constitutingthe elements of a broadly understood language culture, on the other hand, – provide quiteextensive and dependable definitions of language ethics, in which they take into considerationvarious contexts. The students being questioned usually associate the ethics of word withpoliteness, respect toward the partner of conversation, responsibility for words, dependabilityand honesty in language contacts. The academic youth clearly places in opposition the languageethics with such notions as a lie or linguistic manipulation, regarding them asunethical.
