W swojej nowej pracy o języku i stylu Stefana Wiecheckiego autorzy badają użycie jednostek polskiej nowomowy odnoszących się do demokracji w powojennych felietonach tego pisarza. Podchodząc do takiego użycia jako przypadku interferencji kodów językowo-kulturowych, pokazują, w jaki sposób te jednostki były ujmowane i przekształcane przez warszawską gwarę miejską bohaterów Wiecheckiego, którzy reinterpretują ideologiczno-propagandowe znaczenie tych jednostek, dekonstruując ich pierwotne eufemistyczne przesłanie albo dostosowując je do swoich własnych potrzeb.

In this instalment of their series of publications on Stefan Wiechecki’s language and style, the authors study items of the Polish Newspeak referring to democracy as used in his post-war feuilletons. Considering such use as a case of linguistic-cultural code interference, they show how these items are adopted and transformed by the Warsaw urban dialect represented by the speech of Wiechecki’s characters, who reinterpret the propagandist and ideological senses of these items, either deconstructing their original euphemistic message or adapting it to their own needs.
