This mixed-methods research investigates how growth mindset pedagogy can reduce medical students’ fear of failure within a blended learning environment. Data were collected using Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) and qualitative interviews with instructors to explore how promoting a growth mindset influences students’ attitudes toward challenges and risk-taking. The results emphasize the importance of addressing fear of failure within medical education and highlight the competencies enhanced through a growth mindset, such as resilience, lifelong learning, and reflective practices. The authors provide recommendations for educators on fostering a growth mindset in medical students through strategies like normalizing failure, offering constructive feedback, and promoting a supportive learning environment.
