Some aspects of language, terminology, communicative-pragmatic, textual, discursive competences expressions of linguistic identity of economists are presented in the article. It outlines the impact of an economist’s personality traits as a mentor on the formation of a linguistic beginner’s identity.

W artykule zanalizowane zostały poszczególne aspekty kompetencji językowej, terminologicznej, komunikacyjno-pragmatycznej, tekstowej oraz dyskursywnej składające się na osobowość językową specjalisty z zakresu ekonomii. Zaakcentowany został również wpływ cech osobowościowych ekonomisty jako mentora na formowanie się językowej osobowości początkujących adeptów ekonomii.
