The article points out the phenomenon of pretence in education of students with disabilities. Activities, which are assumed to help equalization of educational opportunities for students with disabilities – but in effect that is not achieved, were discussed. The author indicates possible causes of selected sham activities and she suggests solutions that can help reduce the pretence in the field of special education.

Helping in the area of special education takes the form of the overarching idea and the fundamental direction of rehabilitation activities. This makes it is worth considering the essence and complexity of this phenomenon. The article presents the syntagmatic nature of help and analysed its essential components, which are: the recipient and the giver of help, relationships between them, the purpose and motives of providing help, ways to implement it, boundaries in helping and consequences of helping. Organizing these elements and reflecting them is an important, though not the only, purpose of the article. It was crucial to object to the treatment of people with disabilities only in the category of recipients of assistance activities and to draw attention to the need and the possibility of effectively fulfilling by them the role of givers of help.

Fakt, że w obszarze pedagogiki specjalnej pomaganie przyjmuje postać nadrzędnej idei i zasadniczego kierunku działań rehabilitacyjnych, skłania do refleksji nad istotą i złożonością tego zjawiska. W tekście ukazano syntagmatyczny charakter pomocy i poddano analizie jej zasadnicze komponenty, którymi są: biorca i dawca pomocy, relacje zachodzące pomiędzy nimi, cel i motywy udzielania pomocy, sposoby jej realizacji, granice oraz konsekwencje pomagania. Uporządkowanie wymienionych elementów i poddanie ich refleksji to istotny, choć nie jedyny, cel artykułu. Niezwykle ważne było wyrażenie sprzeciwu wobec traktowania osób z niepełnosprawnością wyłącznie w kategorii biorców działań pomocowych i zwrócenie uwagi na potrzebę oraz możliwość skutecznego wypełniania roli dawców pomocy.

Literature and the Dictatorship. Historiographic Metafiction in Antonio Muñoz Molina´s A Manuscript of Ashes

The human rights are always violated during the dictatorship. The trauma of non-democratic regimens always has its repercussion into generations of writers. The paper examines A Manuscript of Ashes of Muñoz Molina; a novel based in Franco’s Spain, published in 1986. Young Antonio Muñoz Molina is reinterpreting in a postmodern way the history of his region. He is working a social trauma of dictatorship by showing the alternative versions of the history and the impossibility to reach the truth. The author needs to fictionalize the history, feeling that what happened in Franco’s Spain was possible to be told only as literature, as a fiction. The novel describes the civic war, post-war years when the republicans were still being pursued by the government and the 60’, during the students strikes. But there isno direct reference to any historical fact of this period. All the protagonists are fictional. The novel is a postmodern try of questioning the official version of the history, which makes it a perfect example of historiographic metafiction, a concept developed by Linda Hutcheon as one of the characteristics of a postmodern novel. The novel, with full conscience of the impossibility of the reconstruction of the past and through the subjective narrative voice is discovering a new truth. New, but not the only one, nor the final one.

In this article it is discussed the shape of the dissertation in higher education. The authors try to answer the question about the differences between the BA thesis and MA thesis. The criteria of the analysis are as follows: • Theses place during the higher education, • The types and functions of the thesis, • Assessment of thesis. An important point of discussion is the distinction of meaning between the scientific work and the work of a scientific nature. In the summary of the article it is proposed method of differentiating the BA thesis and MA thesis.

The article presents some of the research results obtained under the project on the content and importance of the characteristics of people with mild intellectual disability. Taking into account the multitude of texts of this type, the selection of the most representative among them was limited. The authors' intention is to draw attention to the potential of these texts and the dangers of misreading them. The call for reflection began by presenting the legitimacy of the research activities undertaken and their conceptual assumptions. The issues relating to the developmental characteristics of persons with mild intellectual disabilities were examined, intra-group differentiation of the population concerned, taking into account in the characteristics of the reference group, the way in which the characteristics described are valued and the relationship between the different characteristics of the functioning of the described collective is shown. Information on the form of the analyzed characteristics will be presented in the next publication.

Artykuł przedstawia część rezultatów badawczych uzyskanych w ramach projektu dotyczącego treści i znaczenia charakterystyk osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim. Biorąc pod uwagę mnogość tekstów tego rodzaju ograniczono się do wyboru kilku najbardziej reprezentatywnych spośród nich. Zamierzeniem autorów było zwrócenie uwagi na potencjał tkwiący w tych opracowaniach i niebezpieczeństwa związane z nieprawidłowym ich odczytywaniem. Zaproszenie do przemyśleń na ten temat rozpoczęto od przedstawienia zasadności podjętych działań badawczych i ich założeń koncepcyjnych. W niniejszym artykule poddano analizie zagadnienia odnoszące się do właściwości rozwoju osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim, zróżnicowania wewnątrzgrupowego omawianej populacji, uwzględniania w charakterystykach grupy odniesienia, sposobu wartościowania opisywanych cech oraz ukazywania powiązań pomiędzy poszczególnymi właściwościami funkcjonowania opisywanej zbiorowości. Informacje dotyczące formy analizowanych charakterystyk zostaną przedstawione w kolejnej publikacji.

Three dimensions were distinguished in the description of the situation of persons with a mild intellectual disability:1. Attributes of the phenomenon of mild intellectual disability2. Attributes of the population of people with mild intellectual disabilities3. Attributes of selected elements of the mesosystem of people with mild intellectualdisabilitiesThe key phenomena for these dimensions were analysed. The ambiguity of these phenomena has become the basis for considering the opportunities and threats that they may pose. Due to the extensiveness of the issues raised, the issues discussed are presented in two parts. The present text is considers the first two of the dimensions listed.
