This article analyses the methods of translating the onomastic realities in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels into Polish and Russian. 809 realities were singled out and were analysed from the point of view of onomastics and translation studies. They were divided into groups of onyms: anthroponyms, zoonyms, toponyms, ergonyms, chrematonyms, poreyonyms, pragmatonyms, ideonyms. For each group the translation methods used by Polish and Russian translators were analysed and the most frequent translation methods were highlighted. As a result of the study, a new classification of methods for translating onomastic realities was developed.

Artykuł omawia sposoby przekładu jednostek onomastycznych na języki polski i rosyjski na materiale powieści J. K. Rowling o Harrym Potterze. W onomastycznej przestrzeni powieści wyodrębniono 809 jednostek onomastycznych, które zostały zbadane z punktu widzenia onomastyki i przekładoznawstwa oraz podzielone na grupy onymów: antroponimy, zoonimy, toponimy, ergonimy, chrematonimy, porejonimy, pragmatonimy, ideonimy. Dla każdej grupy przeanalizowane zostały sposoby tłumaczenia stosowane przez polskiego i rosyjskich tłumaczy oraz wyróżnione najczęściej występujące sposoby tłumaczenia. W wyniku przeprowadzonego badania została opracowana nowa klasyfikacja sposobów tłumaczenia jednostek onomastycznych.
