„Zgłaszam się do Was w  pytaniu o...”, czyli o  tym, jak Polacy ze Wschodu realizują wybrane aspekty wzorca gatunkowego podania

The article presents the results of the analysis of 51 high grades in learning applications written by foreign Polish descendant students and foreign students of The Polish Language and Culture Centre for Polish People from Abroad and Foreigners at the UMCS in Lublin. These are students who attend the so-called „zero year,” during which they prepare to take up studies in Poland, among them students from Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Although all these people have declared that they have Polish roots, the Polish language is not their first language or basic communication tool and they only use it in limited circumstances, for example with their chosen family members, at school or in church. As the realision of the genre pattern is very complex and cannot be encompassed within the frames of one article, the author focused on the structural aspect of the gathered applications. Therefore, the presented analysis constitutes the first stage in achieving the goal of research analysis, which is defining of the level of pragmatic competence of the application senders.

The purpose of the article is to present results of an analysis of how students of Polish as a foreign language implement the genre pattern of a complaint letter. The study group included Slavic students of the Centre of Polish and Polish Culture for Polish People from Abroad and Foreigners UMCS in Lublin. The research was conducted twice – at the beginning and in the end of the academic year. Therefore it’s results show the increase of learners communication competences and the elements that should be given special attention in the teaching process. The article also stresses that teachers of Polish as a foreign language should pay more attention to achievements of genre studies. It also presents a description of the genre pattern of a complaint letter.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie wyników analizy sposobów realizacji polskiego wzorca gatunkowego skargi przez słowiańskojęzycznych studentów uczących się języka polskiego w Centrum Języka i Kultury Polskiej dla Polonii i Cudzoziemców UMCS w Lublinie. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone dwukrotnie – na początku i na końcu roku akademickiego – dlatego wyniki analizy pozwalają na zaobserwowanie poziomu wzrostu kompetencji komunikacyjnych uczących się oraz wskazanie elementów, na które należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę w procesie nauczania. Artykuł podkreśla także potrzebę zwrócenia większej uwagi na kształcenie kompetencji genologicznej oraz wykorzystanie w praktyce glottodydaktycznej osiągnięć genologii. Zawiera również charakterystykę polskiego wzorca gatunkowego skargi.

Artificial intelligence (AI), the result of the dynamic development of information technology, has been the subject of research for several decades. ChatGPT is an intelligent system that generates answers to arbitrary questions, and one of its fields of application is education. This article presents the results of a survey conducted as part of a teaching course in management among students at the Krakow University of Economics. The research was aimed at identifying students' opinions on the possibility of using ChatGPT in solving specific decision-making problems and was conducted during the didactic classes in the summer semester of the academic year 2022/23. The article describes the origin and development of ChatGPT, presents the research method and the results of the research. A discussion of the results obtained with conclusions presented in the scientific literature is also made. The analysis shows that the majority of the students surveyed were positive about the use of the ChatGPT system in their classes. The students' responses to the open-ended question revealed different opinions. On the one hand, the benefits of using ChatGPT as a learning support tool were pointed out, such as facilitating information retrieval, paraphrasing text or creating work plans. On the other hand, concerns were raised about laziness, plagiarism and the loss of the ability to search for information reliably and efficiently.

Zagadnienie sztucznej inteligencji (AI) będącej efektem dynamicznego rozwoju technologii informacyjnej jest przedmiotem badań od kilkudziesięciu lat. Jednym z systemów inteligentnych, który generuje odpowiedzi na dowolnie postawione pytania jest ChatGPT, którego jednym z obszarów zastosowania jest edukacja. Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań sondażowych przeprowadzonych w ramach zajęć dydaktycznych z zarządzania wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie. Badania miały na celu identyfikację opinii studentów na temat możliwości wykorzystania platformy ChatGPT w rozwiązywaniu konkretnych problemów decyzyjnych i były prowadzone podczas zajęć dydaktycznych w semestrze letnim roku akademickiego 2022/23. W artykule opisano powstanie i rozwój systemu ChatGPT, zaprezentowano metodę badawczą oraz wyniki badań. Dokonano również dyskusji uzyskanych wyników z wnioskami zaprezentowanymi w literaturze naukowej. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że większość badanych studentów jest pozytywnie nastawiona do wykorzystania systemu ChatGPT na zajęciach. W odpowiedziach na pytanie otwarte pojawiły się jednak różne opinie. Z jednej strony wskazano na korzyści wynikające z jego stosowania jako narzędzia wspomagającego naukę, takie jak ułatwienie wyszukiwania informacji, parafrazowanie tekstu czy generowanie planów pracy. Z drugiej strony pojawiły się obawy dotyczące możliwości popełnienia plagiatu, a także ryzyko utraty umiejętności poszukiwania informacji przez studentów w sposób rzetelny i efektywny.
