The article shows relational-symbolic aspects of poverty in polish political discourse about flagship Law and Justice’s Party social program called “Family 500+”. Based on the case study of weekly newspaper Newsweek Polska the author stressed main discursive strategies such as demoralization, humiliation of poor people, lower class and unemployed people as a examples of individual blame explanations of poverty. Moreover article presents efforts of justifying inequalities as a result of neoliberal ideology and the vision of profligacy of public institutions due to social politics expenses.

The article shows discourse about poverty in Gazeta Wyborcza in 2018. The author stresss out two ways of presenting that issue by the symbolic elites in that famous Polish newspaper. First of them involves structural reasons contected with poverty and emphasies solidarity with poor people. Second approach is dominated by argumentation with individual causes of being poor, contains neoliberal ideology and blaiming poor people for their status. The author uses Critical Discourse Analisys to explain that differences. Antother aim of this paper was to show what topics brings poverty issues in “Gazeta Wyborcza”, according to that reasarch writing about poverty in 2018 was contected with global problems such as war (Yemen, Ukraine), imigration crissis (Germany, USA, Mexico, Salvador), global warming and econimic crissis. Articles about poverty in Poland concentrated on social programs (Family 500 plus), homeless people, old age people. Also article shows summary of Polish papers contains discourse analisys about poverty.

Celem artykułu jest analiza dyskursu na temat dochodu podstawowego w Gazecie Wyborczej. Studium przypadku tego dziennika ma za zadanie pokazać, w jaki sposób idea dochodu podstawowego jest przedstawiana przez elity symboliczne w Polsce, w tym wypadku przez dziennikarzy jednego z najbardziej poczytnych i wpływowych dzienników w kraju. Wnikliwe spojrzenie na to, w jaki sposób dziennikarze Gazety Wyborczej opisują ów pomysł, jak konstruują argumentacje za lub przeciw, ma dać odpowiedź na pytanie, czy w dyskursie prasowym pojawia się poparcie dla idei dochodu podstawowego, czy też mamy do czynienia z jej negatywną oceną. Nowatorskim pomysłem jest zbadanie sposobu recepcji dyskursu elit symbolicznych przez czytelników za pomocą analizy sekcji komentarzy w internetowych wydaniach pisma i porównanie sposobów argumentowania dziennikarzy i czytelników.

The purpose of the article is to present the aspects of demagoguery in Janusz Korwin-Mikke’s political appeal during presidential election campaign in 2015. The aim is to showhow demagoguery is used by him to create the besieged fortress syndrome. The aim of this article is to use Critical Discourse Analysis on research about newly born polish discourse about people’s history. The author analysed current books concentrated on that subject which reveal new image of this part of Polish history. The article shows new narrative contains critical point of view on polish elites, reconceptualising images of excluded classes. Furthermore the article shows how inequality and exploitation effected on present social relations according to analyzed material.

Celem artykułu jest wykorzystanie krytycznej analizy dyskursu do badań nad  polskim dyskursem o historii. Autor dokonał analizy aktualnych książek poświęconych tej tematyce, które ukazują nowy obraz tej części historii Polski. Opracowanie potwierdza, że nowa narracja zawiera krytyczny punkt widzenia na polskie elity, redefiniując obrazy klas wykluczonych. Ponadto w artykule przedstawiono, jak na podstawie analizowanego materiału nierówność i wyzysk wpłynęły na obecne stosunki społeczne.
