This research aims to explore transparent and non-transparent practices, their effects and obstacles in secondary schools. The study is valuable in that it could contribute to the future transparency of schools. It is a qualitative case study. Among purposive sampling methods, easily accessible case sampling was chosen to determine the participants. The participant group consisted of 38 teachers. The data were collected using an interview method. The data were analyzed using descriptive and content analysis methods. The study found out transparent and non-transparent practices in schools. Positive effects of transparent practices and negative effects of non-transparent practices were identified, and obstacles to transparency in schools were revealed.
