In the process of literary communication between the author and the readers, the translator plays the role of a linguacultural mediator. Since each proper name is usually deeply rooted in the original cultural system, the translator is forced to retain its core meaning and leave aside its secondary aspects. Therefore, as the understanding of particular literary worlds depends on the respective onomastic structures, translations seem to be partial interpretations of original texts.

Translation of literary proper names boils down to either accurately rendering their original form / meaning or finding equivalents which have less in common with their original versions. In the article the author attempts to deduce what might have caused the translators to choose one of the two strategies by means of analysing chosen examples from the saga. Apparently, the translators’ decisions stem not only from the limitations of respective languages and cultures, but also from their individual approach towards the original text.

Bearing in mind the prime principle of audiovisual integration in human communication (Seeber 2012, 2017), the author discusses the empirical aspects of the correlation between nonverbal communication and simultaneous interpreting. Having established that kinesics and prosody indeed can have a positive impact on understanding one’s message, he conducts an experiment in which he compares the quality of the interpretations performed by MA students of English and Russian philology divided into audio and audio-visual groups in the case of English-Polish and Russian-Polish simultaneous interpreting. He focuses specifically on two categories of gestures – illustrators and emblems. Ultimately, he discovers a tangible relation between having the ability to see the speaker and the accuracy of interpreting the speaker’s speech. However, the limitations of the experiment do not allow for making universal conclusions on the basis of its results, as it should become operationalised and replicated.

In the paper, the author attempts to explore the cognitive potential of literary proper names with regard to the fundamental role of one’s cognition in writing and reading literary texts. This cognitive approach to literary onomastics is intended to focus on the notion that the three aspects: semiotics, semantics and conceptuality of literary proper names are primarily dependent on the minds of writers and readers rather than solely on literary texts. Taking this into account, the author offers a theoretical framework – literary proprial concepts. He purports that the discursive activity of the participants of literary communication allows for imagining, shaping and developing literary proprial concepts assigned to literary proper names. In fact, it should be recognised that literary proprial concepts function parallel to name-bearers, as the former entities constitute the focal point of cognitive linguistics, while the latter – of philosophy

In this paper, the author traces the causal relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes that have gradually been introduced in organisational internal communication since 2019. To make this possible, he briefly presents the relevant notions: the stakeholder approach, internal marketing and business communication model based on efficient business communication standards. All of them are designed to underscore that internal communication in an enterprise is not just a necessity but a competitive asset in itself, being recognised and applied by practitioners. The COVID-19 pandemic has explicitly shown that while organisations could not follow the guidelines offline, they were forced to make up for it online. Accordingly, the idea is confronted with the statistical data collected by three recognised institutions (Eurofound, Eurostat and Gallagher Communication). They examined six parameters in total, which can be encompassed under the umbrella of printed and digital communication streams. Although the modalities involved both traditional and innovative approaches, the latter category seems to have gained a significant advantage, proving its effectiveness.
