The subject of this article is the analysis of the activities conducted by the Archaeological Reserve in Kalisz-Zawodzie and its role in education and popularization of archaeology. It is based on the results of conducted quantitative and qualitative research surveys among visitors to the reserve and residents of Kalisz, including students of one of the primary schools, and interviews with experts. On their basis, the profile of visitors, the motivation they were guided by and their perception of the reserve and its offer were determined. In order to improve the image of the reserve and develop an appropriate offer, an original program and organizational concept for the discussed facility was created on the basis of the collected information.
The aim of the article is to show the potential of cultural heritage in the founding area of location Kalisz as a factor in the city’s development. It presents concepts related to cultural heritage, its protection and dissemination, as well as the positive impact it has on shaping the identity of local communities, which can derive many benefits, both intangible and material, from contact with monuments. Awareness of these values translates into the economic development of the city, which in turn becomes a premise for the protection of monuments and further education about them. The article will discuss monuments of medieval chronology located in the very center of location Kalisz, once a location city surrounded by walls. The following will be analyzed in terms of the attractiveness and potential of activities related to the dissemination of knowledge about cultural heritage: city walls and Dorotka’s Tower, the first three churches in Kalisz: the Franciscan church of Saint Stanislaus, the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and the sanctuary of Saint Joseph, and the Town Hall and its multimedia exhibition.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie potencjału dziedzictwa kulturowego na obszarze lokacyjnego Kalisza jako czynnika rozwoju miasta. Przedstawiono w nim pojęcia związane z dziedzictwem kulturowym, jego ochroną i upowszechnianiem, a także pozytywnym wpływem jaki wywiera na kształtowaniem się tożsamości lokalnych społeczności, które mogą czerpać wiele korzyści, zarówno niematerialnych jak i materialnych, z obcowania z zabytkami. Świadomość tych walorów przekłada się na rozwój ekonomiczny miasta, co staje się z kolei przesłanką do ochrony zabytków oraz dalszej edukacji na ich temat. W artykule omówione zostaną zabytki o średniowiecznej chronologii, znajdujące się w ścisłym centrum Kalisza, niegdyś otoczonego murami miasta lokacyjnego. Analizie pod kątem atrakcyjności oraz potencjału działań związanych z upowszechnianiem wiedzy o dziedzictwie kulturowym poddane zostaną: mury miejskie i Baszta Dorotka, trzy pierwsze kaliskie kościoły: kościół franciszkański pod wezwaniem Św. Stanisława, Katedra św. Mikołaja i sanktuarium św. Józefa oraz Ratusz i znajdująca się w nim wystawa multimedialna.
In the article, we discuss the role of archaeological education on the example of the activities of the Archaeological Club at the Mikołaj Kopernik Primary School in Biadki, in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. The establishment of the Club was the aftermath of a community archaeology project carried out in the village in 2021. We present the aims, methods and results of the activities of this club, which aims to promote knowledge about the past and develop interest in archaeology among students and dispel myths about it. This example shows how archaeological education can be an effective tool to enrich the teaching process and arouse interest in this field of study.
