An interdisciplinarity becames more and more popular approach incontemporary science to explaning the complexity of the world. The articletries to show that the Bible is a genuine source where we can find manyarchetypes of various economical theories and concepts. One of them island, soil itself. From the economical point of view land is one of the primaryfactors of production. Land has got not only economical value, butalso social and cultural. The Bible is a great source of inspiration for manyeconomical ideas concerning land, i.e. the value of land, ownership of land and cyclical fertility of the soil (vide: Sabbath rest). The main goal of thispaper is to find and compare the contemporary economical knowledge tothe knowledge of the Pentateuch and provide an economic explanation forthe word of God.

The contemporary science has become more and more parameterized and focused on points. In this situation it is more and more difficult to maintain “the purity” of the idea of science and its main goal – discovering the world, in selfless duty. That’s the reason why I have presented the example of a scientist, who was uncompromisingly, and with a real passion, devoted to science. I have choosen Maria Skłodowska-Curie: we celebrate the 150th anniversary of her birth in 2017.
