The effectiveness functioning of the blood donation system is to provide of citizens' health security. It is subject of an action both medical and logistical services. The aim of this paper is to use multivariate statistical analysis to assess the functioning blood donation system and risk analysis in this study area. In this paper the methods were used multivariate data mining in the study of blood donation system activities in the European Union countries.

Celem artykułu było porównanie zrównoważonego rozwoju krajów UE oraz określenie miejsca Polski pod tym względem w strukturze europejskiej. Podstawą klasyfikacji była miara syntetyczna obliczona na podstawie wybranych wskaźników określających rozwój zrównoważony krajów UE. Do konstrukcji miary agregatowej zastosowano klasyczną metodę wzorca rozwoju Z. Hellwiga oraz dwie metody oparte na miarach pozycyjnych. Zbadano także wpływ doboru metody badawczej na końcowy wynik analizy.

The purpose of this article is to compare the level of sustainable development of the European Union (EU) Countries and the definition of the Polish position in the ranking. Based on 32 statistical indicators characterizing the sustainable development, synthetic measures were selected and EU countries were ordering from most to least developed. Rank is prepared using standard development Hellwig method based on the Weber median. The results confirm the high relev¬ance of the proposed methods for the assessment of the sustainable development of the EU Countries. (original abstract)

Wyniki badań przedstawione w ramach niniejszego artykułu odnoszą się do problematyki zastosowania wskaźników opisujących finansowe aspekty funkcjonowania jednostek samorządu terytorialnego. Badania prowadzone były w wymiarze lokalnym (powiaty i gminy wchodzące w ich skład), gdyż to na tym poziomie świadczona jest większość podstawowych usług publicznych. Celem artykułu jest w szczególności próba identyfikacji wskaźników, które w największym stopniu opisują sytuację finansową w analizowanym przekroju. Zastosowana metoda Hellwiga w odniesieniu do danych z województwa dolnośląskiego z lat 2006-2012 wskazuje na istotne znaczenie w tym zakresie przede wszystkim udziału nadwyżki operacyjnej w dochodach ogółem oraz udziału zobowiązań wymagalnych w zobowiązaniach ogółem.

The results presented in this article relate to the issue of ratio analysis concerning financial aspects of the functioning of the local government units. The study was conducted at the local level (poviats and local municipalities belonging to them), since there the majority of public services are provided. The article aims in particular to identify indicators that describe the financial situation in the analyzed scale. Hellwig's method applied to the data from the region of Lower Silesia in the period of 2006-2012 indicates a significant role of the contribution of the operating surplus in the total income and the share of maturing liabilities in total liabilities.
