Rady naukowe czasopism – czego się możemy o nich dowiedzieć z not redakcyjnych?

The journal’s editorial board membership is valued in the research community, even if the actual role of such boards is not transparent. Information about the editorial board is important to potential authors, database creators, and funding agencies. It was assumed that an editorial (apart from the website) could be a tool for communicating information about the journal’s editorial board. To verify this assumption, the method of the narrative literature review was used, with elements of a systematic review. A discussion about editorials is presented, namely the definition, role, and authorship of such texts. Information about editorials concerning editorial boards was extracted from the Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection databases; and then thematically analyzed. A great potential of editorials to promote editorial boards was found; editorials are used by editors to inform about the editorial boards of journals. The subject of the editorials is described on the example of the life cycle of the journal’s editorial board. A catalog of several dozen topics in the studied area is presented. This catalog adds value to this work and could be of editors and publishers interest.

W społeczności naukowców członkostwo w radzie naukowej czasopisma jest cenione, nawet jeżeli faktyczna rola rad naukowych w poszczególnych czasopismach nie jest przejrzysta. Informacja o radzie naukowej jest istotna dla potencjalnych autorów, twórców baz danych i jednostek finansujących czasopisma. Przyjęto, że (oprócz strony WWW) nota redakcyjna (ang. editorial) może być miejscem komunikowania informacji o radzie naukowej czasopisma. W celu zweryfikowania tego założenia posłużono się metodą narracyjnego przeglądu literatury, z elementami przeglądu systematycznego. Przeprowadzono dyskusję na temat not redakcyjnych – definicji, roli i autorstwa tych tekstów. W bazach Scopus i Web of Science Core Collection wyszukano noty redakcyjne, które następnie zostały przeanalizowane ze względu na prezentowaną w nich tematykę odnośnie do rad naukowych czasopism. Na podstawie wykonanej analizy stwierdzono duży potencjał not redakcyjnych w przedmiotowym zakresie. Noty redakcyjne były i są wykorzystywane przez redakcje do informowania o radach naukowych czasopism. Tematykę not opisano na przykładzie cyklu życia rady naukowej czasopisma. Przedstawiono także katalog kilkudziesięciu tematów w badanym zakresie. Katalog ten stanowi wartość dodaną niniejszej pracy i może być przydatny redakcjom i wydawcom czasopism w planowaniu rozwoju czasopisma.

W pierwszych dwóch częściach pracy skoncentrowano się na omówieniu materialnych i niematerialnych instrumentów, wykorzystywanych do zachęcania użytkowników serwisu do współtworzenia jego przekazu. Część trzecia ukazuje, w jaki sposób wprowadzone w styczniu 2013 roku zmiany w modelu funkcjonowania portalu, zwłaszcza nadanie mu pozaprasowego charakteru, przyczyniły się do podważenia dotychczasowego systemu motywowania autorów

The objective of this article is an analysis of the Wiadomości24.pl user motivational system. The first two sections concentrate on a discussion of tangible and intangible instruments applied to encourage the news service users to collaborate in its creation. The third section shows how changes introduced in January of 2013 to the service’s model of functioning, especially the application of a non–press character, played a role in disturbing the system for motivating authors.

he aim of this article is showing the distribution of geographical affiliation of the membersof editorial boards, selected 10 highest ranked journals from Eastern Europe, from the Educationarea, according to the SCImago Journal Rank index, in 2018. Bibliometric was chosen as themethod of measuring the potential of the analysed journals. In addition, the analysis of existingsources was used. Data from the SCImago portal show that from the 10 selected journals therewere: 3 Russian, 2 Polish, Lithuanian and Slovenian periodicals and 1 Serbian journal. The number of editorial boards members varied and ranged from 13 to 54 people. All the members of theabove-mentioned editorial boards were 357, and they came from 55 countries in total, including, tothe greatest extent, from Europe (71.75%), then from Asia (12.53%), North America (8.55%),Australia and Oceania (2.63%), South America (1,97%), and Central America and Africa (1.31%each). The significant internationalisation of the editorial boards of surveyed journals is noticeable,with the Americans being the only nation to appear on the editorial boards of all the surveyedperiodicals.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie rozkładu afiliacji geograficznej członków rad redakcyjnych (editorial board) wybranych 10 najwyżej sklasyfikowanych czasopism z Europy Wschodniej z obszaru Education według wskaźnika SCImago Journal Rank w 2018 r. Jako metodę pomiaru potencjału analizowanych czasopism wybrano bibliometrię. Ponadto zastosowano analizę źródeł zastanych. Z danych zawartych w portalu SCImago wynika, że wśród 10 wyselekcjonowanych pism znajdowało się: 3 periodyki rosyjskie, po 2 polskie, litewskie i słoweńskie oraz 1 czasopismo serbskie. Liczebność składów rad redakcyjnych była zróżnicowana i wahała się od 13 do 54 osób. Wszystkich członków wspomnianych rad było 357 i pochodzili oni łącznie z 55 państw, w tym w stopniu największym z Europy (71,75%), Azji (12,53%), Ameryki Północnej (8,55%), Australii i Oceanii (2,63%), Ameryki Południowej (1,97%) oraz Ameryki Środkowej i Afryki (po 1,31%). Dostrzegalne jest znaczne umiędzynarodowienie rad redakcyjnych badanych pism, przy czym Amerykanie są jedyną nacją, która występowała w radach redakcyjnych wszystkich analizowanych czasopism.
