Tis article deepens the catechetical thinking in Italy for the last two decades,from the publication of the General Directory for catechesis.For analysing the following problem the catechetical view will be presented and it includes mostly the following important documents:The catechesis renewal,Meeting Jesus and The General Directory for catechesis. Te recent reﬂection is proposed through the revision of the catechetical issues of all the Italian Dioceses during the ﬁve National Italian conferences titled, In Jesus Christ,The new humanism. It must be noted that the General Directory for Catechesis has been demonstrated to be a valid instrument for the formation of the catechists and the transfer of evangelical vitality for the Dioceses and the parishes.With this document, there was a rise in the catechetical innitiatives guided mainly by the priests and the laity involved in this sector. During the years 1997- 2017 there was noted a return in the formation of the catechists and the preparation of catechesis.Infront of the new Challenges socio-political catechesis is shown as an important instrument for the Education of faith and for the intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia myśl katechetyczną we Włoszech w ostatnim dwudziestoleciu od pojawienia się Dyrektorium ogólnego o katechizacji. Dla omówienia tematu została przedstawiona panorama katechetyczna zawarta w ważniejszych dokumentach: Odnowa katechezy, Spotykamy Jezusa i oczywiście Dyrektorium Ogólne o katechizacji. Do reﬂeksji dołączono przemyślenia katechetyczne reprezentantów wszystkich diecezji włoskich podczas 5 Krajowej Konferencji zatytułowanej W Jezusie Chrystusie nowy humanizm. DOK okazał się dobrym narzędziem w kształtowaniu katechetów oraz przekazaniu witalności ewangelizacyjnej diecezjom i paraﬁom. Dzięki temu dokumentowi pojawiło się wiele inicjatyw katechetycznych prowadzonych głównie przez duchowieństwo i zaangażowane osoby świeckie. W omawianym okresie zauważono zwrot w formacji katechetów i kształceniu katechetyków. W obliczu nowych wyzwań społeczno-politycznych katecheza ciągle pozostaje istotnym instrumentem wychowania do wiary oraz dialogu międzykulturowego i międzyreligijnego.

Te article brings up the subject of contemporary interpretation of religious education in Italy. Searching for the deﬁnition of the term ‘religious education’ proves complexity of this issue. We can deliberate on wealthy life space created by such services as: teaching religion, catechesis, preaching the Gospel, the faith education. In the further stage, the article presents the view of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy; it analyses the contemporary reﬂection on academic level and oﬃcial teaching by Italian bishops. Aﬅerwards there are directions of the development of thoughts presented, both in a theoretical and practical dimension. Te résumé shows that contemporary concern for religious education parallels to care for families, care for a community contemplating the faith, care for relevant preparation to sacramental Christian initiation as well as care for catechesis of adult people.

Artykuł porusza temat współczesnego ujęcia edukacji religijnej we Włoszech. Poszukiwania deﬁnicji terminu „edukacja religijna” wykazują złożoność tego zagadnienia. Można mówić o bogatej przestrzeni życia, którą tworzą takie posługi jak: nauczanie religii, katecheza, ewangelizacja, edukacja wiary. Artykuł podaje zarys obrazu Kościoła Katolickiego we Włoszech; dokonuje analizy współczesnej reﬂeksji na poziomie akademickim i oﬁcjalnego nauczania biskupów włoskich. Pokazane są kierunki rozwoju myśli, zarówno w wymiarze teoretycznym, jak i praktycznym. Współczesna troska o edukację religijną idzie równolegle w kierunku troski o rodzinę, troski o wspólnotę przeżywania wiary, troski o właściwe przygotowanie do sakramentów inicjacji chrześcijańskiej oraz troski o katechezę osób dorosłych.
